Shaver John Posted March 7, 2023 #3 Share Posted March 7, 2023 We are on the Discovery on 4-15 in a suite and elite with almost 70 cruises on Princess. Do you think we might get invited? We are traveling with another couple in a suite and elite and if we do get invited we want to go with them. Has anyone ever experienced the chance to attend with their other folks in their group. We are grouped together for meals so Princess knows we are traveling as a group. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

puggymom Posted March 7, 2023 #5 Share Posted March 7, 2023 I haven’t experienced it myself, but saw some pictures and videos. It looks very similar to Le Petit Chef on Celebrity ( which I have experienced and loved)
MissP22 Posted March 8, 2023 #6 Share Posted March 8, 2023 Has anyone heard what they'll be charging for it when it's in full operation?

That would not be workable since there is a limit to how many people can attend on any given night.

californiagirl Posted March 8, 2023 #11 Share Posted March 8, 2023 We experienced it on Discovery last week. It was amazing and the highlight of our cruise. The food was the best on the ship. There was one server per 2 guests. The visuals were gorgeous and the host made it even more wonderful.
Rare donswife Posted March 8, 2023 #12 Share Posted March 8, 2023 You will probably receive a phone call to invite you the week before your cruise. At that time be sure to mention the other cabin who are your traveling companions and they should have no problem accommodating your request. We were given a choice of days and times. Rare startedwithamouse Posted March 8, 2023 #14 Share Posted March 8, 2023 (edited) IMO it should stay as an invite only. Once you open up to the masses, who's to say they will abide by the no phone rule? Done both 360 and chef's dinner; the latter people had their phones out all the time, and not living in the moment, which you need to be in the moment and fully immersed in 360. Also, paying people *could* be demanding - "don't like what they served" or complain to guest services asking for a refund. Invited guests appreciate everything and expect nothing. negn Posted March 10, 2023 #19 Share Posted March 10, 2023 It was wonderful. They allow 20 people at each sitting and do 2 sittings a night. Ours was 7:30. Think the other was 5:30. We went the first full day and it spoiled us for the rest of the trip!
EDVM96 Posted March 10, 2023 #20 Share Posted March 10, 2023 (edited) The question is: Do you think the experience thing is there to just whitewash a standard / mediocre food quality dinner? Edited March 10, 2023 by EDVM96

Absolutely 100 percent no. Food quality, preparation and presentation was top notch in every way. There was nothing standard about anything served. One of the best meals we've ever had, and most definitely the best on a cruise ship.

Chef's Table on a Royal Class ship is $110 I believe, and this is above that, so...not so much higher really.
