Celebrity app won't let me see menus

Hi everyone.  My cruise on the Edge is just a month away.  The "Dining" section on the app takes me to the pages for the various dining venues.  It shows the locations of each place, but there seems to be no link available for any of the menus.  It has been this way for some time.  I checked to see if I had the latest version of the app--I'm running 1.39.2, from 3 March.  I tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling, but this didn't help at all.  It's the same on my husband's phone.  Is anyone else having this problem?  Does anyone have a solution to this?  I'm wondering is this is ship dependent.  Thanks in advance.

Wait until closer to your sail date. Select a current or upcoming sail date for your ship and check out the menus.

You know, it's funny.  I was able to see this all a few months ago, and folks on the FB site whose cruises are in August say they can see all the menus.  (I realize that those menus may or may not be accurate for the sailing.)

The menus and activities come and go.  My April cruise has my one shore excursion showing along with port arrival and departure times.   Nothing else.  Had not looked in weeks.  We will eat something off the menu each day.  I look at it as the same as when we went to a Greek restaurant yesterday. We found out their 3 specials when we arrived.

I guess mine is on "go" right now.  LOL. Thanks.

I just checked the app for the April 17 Edge cruise no menu's are showing up and the restaurants are not loading so I think it is an issue with Celebrity.  Menu's for our Equinox cruise in August  and Beyond next March are populating.

With all this talk I decided to look at the app for our 18 March Apex cruise. Only kids menus for the four dining rooms for the entire cruise. I only use the app for the health questionnaire and the lifeboat drill at the pre-cruise hotel.

I just got off the Millennium Southern Caribbean cruise.  I think the app sucks for shore excursion info.  In order to find 2 basic items - the time and cost for each excursion - you must click 4 times on EACH excursion!  Takes way too much time to do this for each excursion, and you can't easily go back & forth trying to compare excursion options.

The app is, frankly, terrible.  Unreliable, awkward, and inaccurate.

sad but true

Why don't you tell us how you really feel? 😎

Agree.  The app is only for lifeboat drill and health questions.   Do the rest on elsewhere.

Read the daily for activities.

Looking at menus until one is on board is not rewarding as menus are often either wrong or changed.

In my humble opinion the App works just fine.  It's great once you are onboard for the daily planner, menu's, etc.  It does not work well weeks/months in advance of the cruise for these things.  I use it primarily as a way to get an idea of what is happening.

You'll have a lot more accurate results if you take a sailing on the same ship, same itinerary, and a much closer date, e.g. the current sailing on the ship you will be boarding, and use the app to look at items on that sailing.

I would never encourage anyone to use the app to book packages or excursions.  use the Web site or your TA to do those.

Just look at it all on the website. works fine.  I have the same problem on the app and I'm leaving 4/1.

Hi, fabby50,

Did you see the menus on the website or just the other items?  I cannot find the menus, however, it's not a big deal if they aren't there.  I just like to be as familiar as possible with the website.

Thanks!

I sail on the Edge on 4/7. No menus are showing in my app, although the “Menus subject to change” statement is front and center in the description for each restaurant. 🙃

I have the same issues.  When I first download the app, the menues showed for a week or so.   Then disappeared.

Yes, go to the dining section, select the restaurant and there is a link to the menu for that particular restaurant.

Our cruise is in 35 days and out of curiosity I checked. The menus are there for Blu.

The app is helpful if, like me, you plan to do something in the middle of the day and then forget & wind up sitting at a slot machine in the casino. I like the reminders.

As mentioned, that's not a big surprise.  We've had the same thing happen.  The app is only so reliable until very close to embarkation.  It's not unusual for them to change things around.

Yes.  That is all I can see as well.  I really think it's a Celebrity Edge issue.

It is not much longer until we sail.  The menus (hopefully) should show up in a few days.   😊

  • 2 months later...

We're showing menus on the Silhouette February '24, but nothing for the Apex October/November '23.

I assume they're changing menus to see if they can further reduce cost and increase complaints as those two seem to be inversely proportional. Or maybe they're looking to decrease complaints with the smallest possible increase in cost.

Either way - we don't cruise for food, we cruise for itinerary. The ship (hopefully) takes us where we want to go. Unless we want to go to Israel, where they're shying away while the 2000 year old "neighbor dispute" war is heating up again.
