Name change from Marriage

We are getting ready to book a honeymoon cruise for our daughter and her fiancé. The concern I have is her name now as we book and when she gets on the ship with her new identity. Do cruise lines have a contingency for updating name changes?

I would believe it best to book in the name that she will have on her identity documents/passport/ DL etc.

Just book with her current ID name and travel with those documents. Air/Cruise lines only care that the booking name matches the IDs.  Many women keep their maiden names for cultural or professional reasons. She can get new ID when they come up for renewal.

How soon after the marriage is this cruise happening? The name on the booking has to match the name on her identity documents. It can take a bit of time for her to get a new DL and passport issued in her married name. Coordinate with your daughter. It may be easier to just book under her current name and have her wait until her return to change her ID docs.

agree .... assuming the honeymoon is immediately after the wedding there won't be time to change names on the passport, diver's lic etc so book in maiden name as it appears on these documents. In other words she won't legally have a 'new identity' yet.

They will still get 'newly wed' perks if they have been so identified.

BTW not all married women change their name ...... there is no legal requirement to do so or is it 'automatic'.  It is 'tradition'.  She will have a legal reason to change her name by virtue of the marriage lic' ..... so places like passport office won't ask "why are you changing your name?" as opposed to establishing an alias . . .
