Institutions are the biggest shareholder so who cares? Other than you might have your retirement funds take a hit. Should have picked better funds.

Then why is the stock price being discussed in this thread? Are there are a bunch of institutions posting in here? 🤣

I doubt institutions are taking cheap shots at Carnival. Whether or not they own Carnival stick.

I think I finally understand your undying loyality.  You are actually emotionally attached to the company. That's why you read any discussion of their financial woes as 'cheap shots at Carnival'.

Comments about how their stock has underperformed against the competition over time is not a 'cheap shot', it's a fact. Sometimes, even hard facts trigger.

I can try to be more sensitive 😉

Your ego is showing. The thread isn't all about you. 😉

Another answer that makes no sense towards the questions being asked. But why am I not surprised? 😉

Makes perfect sense. You will only accept an answer of your liking and that is nonsense.

Ah! Grasshopper begins to learn! How can an answer not be wrong? Being the correct answer to a different question. Change not the answer but the question and you shall always prevail.

It has been a terrible investment for me. Bought 300 shares 3 years ago thinking I would unload it in 2 - 3 years. It is at the same price as when purchased. Oh well it was just a small gamble, ill just hang on to it i guess.

It could've been worse - you could have bought 300 shares 3 years ago at about 52.  THAT would have been a terrible investment.

Ah, I see, but now my question is what is the question he is answering. I am stumped, please help.

Like I said, CCL does not allow shareholder benefits with the MOST POPULAR casino offers (which are the free or $100 offers). There are literally dozens of people reporting they have been denied.

It is my understanding CCL also stopped allowing shareholder benefits to be used with casino offers 😞

When was your most recent request and what was your casino offer?

There are many threads on here and social media with dozens of people who have been refused with the $100 pp casino offer.

Just so we are clear, like rcl, CCL appears to be refusing shareholder OBC for those taking advantage of the post popular Casino offerings.

Your "understanding" is incorrect. And repeating it over and over doesn't make it any less incorrect.

For the record, I will be boarding Pride next week for a 13-nite transatlantic cruise in a veranda cabin that I booked in February on a $100pp casino offer that included $200obc.  And contrary to your assertions, I applied for and received an additional $100obc as a shareholder benefit.

The question does not exist and shall never exist unless one foolishly toils to quarry the rock and build a wall of logic. Only then will the question that evades the wall be revealed.

I am both impressed and confused by your answer. I think I shall have to fully meditate upon it.

Good to hear. Social media is filled with stories of the $100 deals being refused additional shareholder OBC, So the policy appears to be inconsistently applied.

I have the same $100 pp with $200 obc, $50 free play, and casino drinks on the Celebration next January. I have no idea how CCL is making money since they are literally offering these deals to just about anyone. I haven’t sailed carnival since 1996 and I don’t really gamble, but the deal was too good to pass up.

I would feel a bit guilty applying for additional OBC on this deal, but if ccl is honoring the shareholder credit in combination with $100 casino deals (albeit inconsistently); I can see why people would apply.

I have now meditated on your words and came up with the following:

What do you want me to do

To do for you to see you through?

A box of rain will ease the pain

And love will see you through.

Just a box of rain wind and water

Believe it if you need it

If you don't just pass it on.

Sun and shower, wind and rain

In and out the window

Like a moth before the flame.

And it's just a box of rain

I don't know who put it there

Believe it if you need it

Or leave it if you dare.

It is wonderful that life's mysteries can be solved by the music and lyrics of the Grateful Dead. 😊

Here is a thread where 9 people were refused shareholder OBC in combination with the $100 casino offer. In the same thread, Two people were granted the OBC. So, It appears you got lucky. May want to Play that OBC on black :).

9 people out of thousands on a cruise ship is almost statistically insignificant. We also know that a number of people who were initially refused were granted OBC if they reapplied.

But non-rev cruises are excluded from the OBC and it is absurd to think someone should be granted additional money on a free cruise when the casino is already giving them more.

Best to tell that to @MadManOfBethesda 😉

Tell him to read the T&C.

For what purpose? Nothing changes the fact that I was given the obc. If you're upset that people are being granted shareholder credit when you don't believe they should be, perhaps you should complain to the department that is granting such credit.

FWIW, I would not have been upset if my request had been denied (as apparently has happened to others), but I'm certainly not going to apologize for receiving it. Or are you of the (ridiculous) opinion that I should refuse to accept it even though they are offering it?

I've never been denied nor turned it down.
