Wife can't come on the cruise - Best way to cancel her

We are going to be on the Allure of the Seas trip 4/16 out of Galveston.  Long story short, my wife had something come up and she can't go and she has insisted that myself and DD14 and DD12 still go.

 

We have two rooms booked, both Casino at Seas comps.  Mine got us a balcony that my wife and I were going to stay in and my wife has an inside cabin across the hall that the girls are staying in.  We also have her reserved for the drink package.

 

Is it best to call ahead and cancel her (and what would happen to the comped inside) or is it best for her to no show?

 

Thanks, obviously this has put us in a bit of a panic.

I think if any of the girls are booked in the inside they will be canceled too.

I assume you mean Casino Royale not Casinos at Sea?  I'd get on the phone with them asap and talk alternatives.  Probably best to move the child and cancel the one cabin or you'll be charged full price since it will no longer be a comp agains your wife's account.

Will the balcony accommodate 3?  If it doesn't you might not be able to move your daughter into it.

How about not cancelling her but instead of changing her?

 

Just to be clear I'm talking about the person to accompany you on the cruise not your wife.

Maybe you could bring another family member (Grandma, brother, ...)?

Aside from the cabins being comps, there needs to be an adult for that inside. Have you checked to see if there is possibly one larger cabin?

 

My first thought was no show, but no idea how that would work with comped cabins and no second adult.

Royal allows minors to be in their own room if they are next to or across the hall from their guardians.

If your girlfriend has a valid passport, you'll be fine...until you get back.

The reservations have to be connected already since both parents were staying in the other room.  The issue is going to be if Royal is going to allow a comped casino room without the guest who it was comped for being on board.

If person who was comped doesn't sail they will reprice the cabin at the current price for anyone in it.  Easy to change names on all but one person originally booked except in this case.

Make sure you cancel your wife’s drink package 48 hours before you board. That goes for any excursions she waz booked on through RCI as well. Assuming you still get to go.

If you don't cancel her and she's just a "no show," would they let the girls stay in the  room, or would they not allow them

to check in until the person the casino comp belongs to shows up? 
 

Beverage package will be refunded if she's a no show I'm pretty sure.

No dice, but plenty of potential girlfriends on board...=)  J/K

 

Anyway, it took over an hour on the phone, but it's all set.  Girls are across the hall so that part is fine.  Had to pay for their room, but once my wife's drink package, dining reservations and excursions were refunded it was a wash.

 

THe only pain was having all of DD14's stuff canceled because she switched rooms, but her non alcoholic beverage package ended up being on sale when I rebooked it.  Still having an issue with an excursion but we'll figure it out on board at this point.

Enjoy your trip.  Just noticed you live in Pittsfield.  We lived there for 14 years, '83-'97 on Mountain Dr.
