I tried to search for any info but the search engine on this site is awful.
The Port of Seattle offers a complimentary luggage handling service at the end of your cruise, from ship directly to home. No need to haul luggage around or check in.

It almost seems to good to be true. Has anyone used this service and how has it worked out? Appreciate any responses. Thanks.

Discussed quite extensively on the West Coast Departures board. Many good threads there. It is very good.

Thank you, there are a lot. I don't know why the search didn't just take me there.

We'll give it Port Valet a try.

The service offered is great, and the program has had glowing reviews here on CC over the past few years.  It not only helps the passengers whose flights qualify for it, and it also helps SeaTac with less congestion around the ticketing counters.  It also gives an economic boost to Seattle when passengers can spend a few extra hours after their cruise exploring and doing touristy things without having to worry about schlepping luggage around.  It's a win-win for everyone.

Did you check the website for this year? I think they are.

Pier 91 staff orientation was this weekend and pier management said they haven't heard about whether Carnival will be participating in Port Valet.

OK. I thought I heard a month or so ago that Carnival would be participating.

This is a complimentary service that would be very helpful since our flight is late afternoon and we can't check our bags prior to 4 hours before departure (Alaska Air)...which means we'd have to hang out for a couple hours before going through security.  Just wondering if you used this service was it as seamless as it appears?  Did your bags arrive at your final destination?

If you search there are many threads on the topic. Everything I have seen is real positive.

Yah, the search function is really not that great, unfortunately....  But thank you...glad to know there are positive experiences out there.

Bumping this thread back up to garner any recent experiences.  As @CruiserBruce pointed out, there are several threads on the topic, including the one I started a few minutes ago, but finding them via the search function is a pathetic undertaking, at best.  As it is, I stumbled across this thread via google...

We just signed up for luggage valet service and I am hopeful it is as good and reliable as it seems.  Our confirmation indicates that airline baggage fees will be billed to our cruise folio.  However, we have 2 comped bags due to first class ticketing so we shouldn't get a charge to our folio.  How reliable is this?  I DID indicate an exemption to the bag fees when I signed up.

We used this service when departing our Quantum of the Seas Alaska cruise this past late August...

ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL.  We wish they did the same everywhere.

We gave the ship the info on our flight home (late afternoon) and they procured our boarding passes for us.  And they got us Alaska Airline luggage tags.  They even processed our baggage with our zero fees--which I get with Alaska Airlines due to my American Airlines Million Mile Gold status (I was worried there might be issues with this--but there were none).  We placed our luggage outside our cabin the night before...and didn't see them again until we got to the baggage carousel at LAX.

This allowed us to leave the ship disembarkation morning with very little to carry (I just kept a small knapsack for my toothbrush/toothpaste and a very few items)...which allowed us to grab a quick Uber or Lyft down to Pike Market...where we spent some time walking around at our leisure and later eating a lunch.  Then we easily grabbed the train from there to the Airport...where, without luggage, we easily went through security and to the gate...Never before have I had such an EASY disembarkation from a cruise.

We had planned on using this as our flight wasn't leaving until 1:30pm.  Our flight now got moved to 12:30 pm, and not sure if that is too early to use this service.  Would love to use it.

I just signed up too and i marked exempt .  We have free bags as we are flying first class.  It showed a zero balance at checkout, so i hope that holds up.

I’ve read that the flight has to be after 12:00 so you should be good to go!

Thank you for the detailed response. Seems like a great service and a no brainer decision!  Traveling is stressful and if this relieves some of that, I’m all in.
