Precisely. Just seemed to me that the question involved the current quality of the beef offerings as opposed to your protein choices.
perhaps I misunderstood.

that is why in my original answer to the post that I stated that i could not provide any information to their question because I have not eaten any on board.

Steelers36 quoted one of my posts about food quality and asked about beef

To which I responded that I could not comment about steak because I ate other things.

Is it clear now

Your #19 remains one on the very best non-answers of all time.

It was intended to be a courteous response to his comment, as to why I was unable to answer his question, since he asked the question in response to my comment.

Amazing that you are so interested that you feel the need to comment on a post responding to someone. That person seems to not have felt the need to question the response.

Have the menus changed? We were on the CB in February and had a hard time finding anything that seemed appealing on the MDR menus. The quality was OK for the most part but the choices were not at all to my taste. It was a disappointment from the previous year on the Regal.

You might look at the current live from topic. They are posting current menus from the Regal.

Been on two Princess cruises since Oct (Island and Enchanted).  Enjoyed both a lot.

Prior to COVID we had migrated away from Princess in favor of Celebrity & RCI.  Mainly itinerary and price.   I was very happy with returning to a couple of very enjoyable Princess cruises.   Have another coming up in a few weeks.

They're back alright, with price increases to boot and elimination of some perks along with a reduction in food quality.

We usually cruise with RCCL, but they were asking triple the price for the same week with the same ports.  We jumped ship (literally) to try Princess to see how it compares.  If Princess has increased prices, I certainly did not notice it with the great rate we received.

As for the perks, as a first time Princess passenger, I sadly will get no loyalty perks, but I do understand people's frustrations when perks are reduced since we have seen this with other lines we cruise on.

Second spoiler alert: coming in November, live from the Majestic: The Countess (jwattle) and The Commoner (c-boy) in Australia 😍

@jwattle  Enjoy the new venue, The Catch! Replaces SLM here on Majestic. The decor is refreshing, food innovative.

People complain about Princess and other cruise lines raising prices or dropping perks but they should look around at what these cruise lines are up against. Nothing is going down in price. Their fuel and food prices continue to sky rocket and in order to "remain afloat" they have to pass these costs onto to their customers. They are very much in debt so every penny earned still doesn't take them out of the red. That won't happen for many many years.

While we may not like to see the cost of cruising rising, Princess is not a non-profit organization and so they must do what they can to make ends meet. If you ran similar business you would do the same.

Yes, my ta discounts 18%

I wonder if mark-ups or TA commissions are higher in UK.  That level of discount is not attainable AFAIK for a regular customer  without casino or other deals.  Maybe Princess is also supporting a sale.  IDK - not my market - but just the discount level is very high relative to my experience.

I did appreciate the response since I was unaware you do not eat beef and I might have wondered why you didn't respond to my question.

Yes things change, and most things have changed since Covid everywhere you look.  Yes they have taken some perks away that people don't like, but how can you give free internet minutes when they now sell it by the day, doesn't really work.  And I really like the plus fare option, so my half price internet is useless to me.  I get it about the coffee card and can see why people are mad about that and I don't even drink coffee.  But nothing is going to stay the same forever.

I have done 2 cruises post restart and my last one was the best.  The 18 days we spent on Emerald (we did 7 on Crown in November).  The staff on our 18 days was fantastic and would go out of their way and do almost anything they could to make you happy.  They got me goat cheese soufflé even after I missed dining in the MDR after that night, but heard a comment that it was my favourite and I would miss it.  Made a special appetizer for another cruiser, and told me that if there was nothing that appealed to me on the menu to let them know and they would get me something else.  But I was ok and able to find something to eat most nights as the Fettucine Alfredo was back on the everyday menu and that is my favourite back up from them (they had it one night on the crown and it was dry and not good).

I won't pretend it was all roses, and to be honest towards the end of our cruise the food quality started to go downhill, the last night almost everyone at our table had the prime rib and it was very grisly and hard to cut, so most didn't finish it.  But we let the head waiter know and he offered to bring us all something new.

But overall I was really impressed and came away from that cruise as my best ever!

I cannot comment about steak quality since I tend not to eat it on cruise ships. More poultry, pork and sea food myself.

It certainly should be for $40 additional per person + additional tip.

Just wanted to point out that it is well-established that the SD cover charges include any gratuity, so nothing additional is charged on the tab nor expected.  That said, guests are free to offer additional gratuities if they feel like it.

From what I've read here on CC, many people do feel obligated to give extra, even though it's not "required".

We have all seen areas lacking compared to pre covid during the restart.

On my last 3 cruises things seem to be pretty much back to pre covid days. The ships have been fully staffed.  Cabin stewards doing twice a day serice efficiently. All dining rooms and all areas of the buffets open. Food in the mdr back with the strange substitutions gone. Good variety in buffet.  Entertainment plentiful with visiting acts being of good quality. Far fewer issues with ship board charges error. The medallion  App having far fewer problems.

These cruises have been on Royal class ships.

My cruises on Grand class ships were earlier in the restart when both staffing and occupancy were limited, so I cannot comment on how they are doing.

Certainly there are some permanent changes and there have been a few hiccups on some ships such as the recent electrical problem on the Grand.

But in general from what I have seen Princess is getting very close to what we expected pre covid. Certainly the number of complaint posts here on CC seem to have dropped considerably over the past few months.

How have your experiences on recent cruises been?

We were on the Royal in April and Ruby the previous September. Everything seemed to be back to pre-covid normality. Food, drinks, entertainment and cabin service were first rate. The Royal cruise was spring break and they were (allegedly) letting kids sail free if they bunked on their parents cabin. The Royal strains a bit with 4000 pax.
