I can go on, but the point has been made. Hurrican Irma anyone? That one was bad for SWF also.
Rare EngIceDave Posted May 20, 2023 #52 Share Posted May 20, 2023 Hurricanes suck and happen, but the best thing about hurricanes is they don't pop up out of no where and surprise you. There's always time to change plans, cancel or itinerary change. Part of the "Tropical Experience." Inconvenient, sure, but certainly safer. It's the same weather sealing out of Long Beach to Mexico but Carnival, NCL, RC and Princess do it yearly.
geovet Posted June 11, 2023 #54 Share Posted June 11, 2023 I came across the 14 day eastern last week and jumped on it. It appeared to be booking well based on cabins available. I’ve been to four of the ports and happy to do again. And there will be four new ports not usually available. Very excited!!! Oh January 2025 so far away. Not even close. NY can be in the teens at night and 20’s during day and there are reviews here where they had to shovel snow off balconies.

We are still living the dream in Ft Myers from IAN that was 90% supposed to hit Tampa St Pete (120+ miles to the north). The recovery will take years and some areas like Ft Mtyers Beach will never be the same. Not arguing your cruise scenario.

Maybe not prepare for a whack that hard, no one is ready for that.

Yes, you can't do the outdoor things, but one thing CCL excels at is the "things to do" department. They could just plan more indoor activities, covered pools etc. It can be done well. and ncl doesn't even have covered pools

RCL is known for sending some of their newer and/or "amplified" ships on unique, longer itineraries and Carnival really needs to compete with them for that market share with the Celebration and Mardi Gras, IMHO. I left from LA in December and it was freezing once you hit the Pacific. Everyone was inside and those outside had on winter coats. Either way it's cold and you lose day and half going and a day and half coming back on either itinerary.
