nast Posted May 23, 2023 #1 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Several times already sailed with Seabourn, as well as Crystal, Ponant and Oceania. Most of our cruises have been with Celebrity Cruises. Now thinking of joining the new ship (Silver Ray) in July 2024, but still in doubt. How is it different from Seabourn? Service (staff), food, fellow passengers, entertainment (shows, dance party), ... ?
Rare Gourmet Gal Posted May 23, 2023 #2 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Try using the search function first because this topic has been discussed quite a few times. Then come back with any further questions. You’ll still get some responses (and opinions) right here but do the search anyway to glean even more info to help with your decision.
Rare Host Jazzbeau Posted May 23, 2023 #3 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Cmon guys, be nice. I was going to say on another thread that one difference I see (just based on the Cruise Critic forums) is that the Silversea board is much friendlier than the Regent board. Live up to my praise! 😀
Rare drron29 Posted May 23, 2023 #4 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Sorry DW but CC won't let me like your posts. Personally I became a teenager in the 50s so I liked the first one but both are good.
Rare highplanesdrifters Posted May 23, 2023 #5 Share Posted May 23, 2023 Silversea and Seabourn are the same. The question you should be asking is: How are the ships different? Different vibe on different sizes, ports, and length of trip.

I wonder if I am stirring the wrong way, being down under and all. 😃 Or perhaps it's just a different way. Don't want to offend the wonderful Aussies.
vistaman Posted May 24, 2023 #10 Share Posted May 24, 2023 On Silversea you still get nice bathroom amenities - Bulgari - on Seabourn you get "dispensers" On the new SS ships far more dining options as on SB IMHO breakfast and buffets somewhat better on SS and there is fresh orange juice in the Arts cafe on SS😁 Non complimentary wine list a lot cheaper on SS There is no "shopping with the chef excursion" on SS Loyalty program better on SB
scseas Posted May 24, 2023 #11 Share Posted May 24, 2023 Silversea’s includes excursions.

I like both but won't do included tours.

pavementends Posted May 25, 2023 #14 Share Posted May 25, 2023 Maybe you could start here https://www.cruisecritic.com/articles.cfm?ID=2398 Although I have a feeling the article is a bit old and there might be some things that have changed.
