Captain circle question

Does anybody know if you get double points for staying in a suite on a 5 night sailing, or does it only apply to 7 nights and above? I couldn’t find the answer on the web site.

You will earn 2 cruise points for sailing in a suite with 2 people.  If in a suite solo, you will earn 3 points.

 

If are in any other cabin category sailing solo, you will earn 2 points.  

 

Number of (cruise) days doesn't matter.  I was a solo, in an interior, for 1 night, and earned 2 cruise credits.

You will get the cruise credits but not all of the suite benefits. I believe that the free specialty restaurant on embarkation day only applies to cruises 6 days and longer

If you are in a suite because you won a bid to upgrade, do you still get credit for two cruise points?  If so, that would put us on elite for our next cruise!

Seems like you would. It is not a comped cruise.

Bids to upgrade seem to be a bit "depends on your luck".

Nope.  It's specialty addressed in the rules for the bidding process.  

 

We had difficulty getting the double cruise credits years ago for an upsell to a suite.  Granted, they did eventually give us the credit, but it was several phone calls and escalation.  This was before club class/reserve class.

From the FAQ (#16):

Will I receive all the amenities of a Reserve Collection Mini Suite or a full suite if I am upgraded to such categories?
Yes! You will receive all the amenities of the upgraded stateroom category. However, you will not receive double cruise credits for a full suite with the upgrade.

2019 - pre-'rona - we took an "upsell" to a full suite - little 4 day RT out of PE - We knew we weren't "entitled" to a free specialty dinner - but the dine line called us to book the first night, so we did - fully prepared to pay.  Nope - the M'd comped the dinner upon our explanation, no problem - we tipped well.

 

In addition, when we inquired about the 'extra cruise credit' - even back then we were told NO, however, they would complimentary do it for us.  Put us at the 'next level' for the next cruise...

I used to get extra cruise credits for upsells all of the time back when they were offered.  I would just go see the Captain Circle rep.
