You asked if NCL had reversed courses and I offered that in May, they were still serving the most wonderful baked wings that are far superior to the fried-to-death, tough as leather wings that they used to serve.

“Wonderful baked wings” is what most Buffalonians would call an “oxymoron.”  🤣

I really miss the pre-pandemic wings.  They were my goto late night snack after the club and casino closed.  I also think they are awful now.  The burger is now my goto.  With pastrami and bacon on top

That burger must be a custom order.  I know they make their reubens with pastrami and actually quite good.

Maybe they'll make the burger a regular menu item for the healthy, contemporary cruiser.

I am so dang picky about wings...our local "Cheers" will grill them upon request...and I ask them to be DOUBLE grilled as I HATE soft skin. I want CRISPY skin (but not breaded)

I does seem like on the Getaway in 2019 they were crisp...but not last year on Getaway or Joy. Boo.

Perhaps we will get lucky on Breakaway or Joy this year.

I'm sure the burger is a regular menu item.  Well, I can only speak on the late night menu.  I've never been there before 2 AM.  Only once did I have a server tell me they couldn't add the pastrami to my burger, which was silly.  I just ordered a burger and a reuben, then took the pastrami off myself and put it on the burger

Yes, the pastrami burger is custom order.  We were able to order it that way on the Joy last year and on the Epic this past March.

oh, yes.  the pastrami burger is custom order.  I thought they meant the burger itself was custom order, like it wasn't on the menu

Jack Nicholson sympathizes with your frustration.

The wings at the Local on the Prima in January were surprisingly good...after having wings at O'Sheahan's on the Escape in November which were surprisingly bad (or maybe not so surprisingly). One of the few positives about our Prima trip.

As to the baked vs. fried debate, why can't NCL put an air fryer on every ship? Problem solved.

Mrs. Schmoopie makes the most delightfully crispy wings in our air fryer. It's not rocket science.

+1 on the air fryer. My wings turn out amazing that way. I agree with @BirdTravels on the baked wings, those are far superior to the fried ones (which often turn out dry and tough as shoe leather). Grilled wings are also fantastic, a friend made some for July 4th and I couldn't stop eating them. I hope NCL continues the healthy or healthier trend with these.

Had the wings in O'Sheahan's back in December... not good.  Not sure if baked or fried, but they are eclipsed by even the worst of dive bars!  I wish they'd fix this, I really love good wings.  A better sauce selection would help, too.  Maybe they're just trying to save a buck...

I’m with Bird on this one, I like the “healthier” option being that they are still wings but we don’t eat anything deep fried so the baked option is a plus. Also consuming a greasy burger with pastrami or what ever at 2am before going to sleep sounds gross.

who cares what it sounds like.  It's not ordered to give a concert.  It's ordered to be eaten, and it tastes great, unlike those wings baked, then covered in sugar

That film was shot at a Denny's right down the road from me in Eugene. It's still there, right off I-5, you can sit in that very booth.

It sounds like my ideal Locals order would be a burger with pastrami and swiss. Hold the bun, hold the fries, with a side salad. Hopefully I will be able to order that at midnight on our boat.

We were on Escape in April and they refused to fry the wings in O'Sheehan's. Sad because they just weren't the same and were quite chewy and we didn't like the texture
