Sandi, that's a good idea about the light for open spaces. BFF likes to back into parking spaces all the time, but I avoid it as I have depth perception issues, and it's too hard!

Great news, Roy!

Thanks for the trick about threading a needle; I'll have to try it. Unfortunately you can't do that with a sewing machine. I can usually just thread it or use one of those doohickies others have posted.

Lenda, good thoughts. I'd thought of a riser for the dryer. It's not a fancy one, just a Kenmore. I have seen directions to build a pedestal. It would be good if I knew a good handyman. I have one of those grabbers, but it's a cheap one that's hard to work. I'll look for a better one.

I have multiples of that needle threader! Thanks for the great Singapore photos.

That's an idea, although most of my step stools aren't sitting friendly. I have a couple of vintage regular wooden stools, one of which I sat on but only to relieve the back pain from standing. It's a combination of bending and standing. Even just standing to cook or wash dishes can bother me.

Aww, Fancy seems to be enjoying being with you and the cats!

@Crazy For Cats Sorry to hear that Jake. I hope the person will be ok.

The captain isn't wasting any time getting back to port. You could see the tilt of the ship in the pool.

Interestingly, we shared a table who had an excursion and their bus broke down. We left port an hour late.  Wonder what would have happened if we left on time.

I’m supposed to be sleeping because I have to get up at 3 am.  It is 11:27 pm and I am still wide awake.

Still have a cold.

Tomorrow is a long travel day for us.

We will stay in Jacksonville tomorrow night and drive home on Thursday.

Hotel gave me some money off the bill for the luggage situation on Sunday.

Will post more when I can.

Good night and God Bless,

Terri

Vanessa, I'm glad you are stronger in some areas, and hope they can help you reach the point where it is not so difficult to do daily tasks.  I have a couple of suggestions, and the first might not be practical depending upon the age of your dryer.  Have you thought about getting one of the pedestals to raise the dryer to a more accessible height?  I know they are usually specific to certain models, and they are not inexpensive.  A less expensive alternative is using one of those grabbers that are designed to help people pick up things they drop.  When DH was in rehab the occupational therapist, as part of the program to help him tackle things around the house, showed him how to use the grabber to load and unload the washer and dryer, not that he's used it for that. 😁  While I can still get things out of the dryer, the grabber does help me get clothes out of the back of the very deep built in hamper.  I think I use the grabber more than DH, especially to get things off high selves.  It beats getting out the step ladder.

Sandi, we've seen that light system in some areas of Europe, too.  I knew that your DS was driving and that Ren was flying.  I guess I made the mistake of assuming your DDIL was flying in with Ren and your DS would be heading home.  As far as the heat, just like in AZ, people try to do all the outside work in the morning, and then stay inside during the hotest part of the day.

Roy, that is great news from your visit with the pulmonologist.  It's always nice to know the things that concern a doctor are pretty much resolved.  Now, you can relax and enjoy planning for your cruises, and the cruises.  I hope there are more cruises in your future after this good report.

Ray, the notice DH got several years ago was about the VA allowing veterans to see local health care providers instead of going to a VA facility.  For us the nearest one is at least 45 miles away in Waco.  However, just to get the approval would take a long visit to the VA and jumping through too many hoops.  We're lucky Medicare and our supplement cover the costs of our care.  When we were in Quartzsite a few years ago, we checked out the VA clinic.  To be seen there, DH would have to go to Flagstaff and be approved by a doctor there.  😱  That's about a day's drive.

Joy, with the VA, it seems the left had has no clue what the right hand is doing.  No wonder it takes so much time and effort to be seen.  I hope you can get things straightened out soon.

Lenda

Lenda, someone is missing the point about a VA clinic.  We have one in our town while the VA Hospital is in Tacoma or Seattle.  The clinic won't have specialists; thus it is their duty to refer you to a local specialist.

Zaandam is now visible on Pier 21 Halifax webcam.

Vanessa, we have two of the grabbers.  One is a lot better than the other.  The good one was from the rehab hospital while the other was from the hospital.  Your therapist might be able to get one for you that is stronger.

Ray

Ray, DH just wanted to be seen for routine things like renewing meds and yearly blood work at the Blythe VA clinic.  We were told that before he could be seen there, we had to go to a VA in Flagstaff hospital and be seen by a doctor who would refer him to the clinic.  It just wasn't worth it, so we kept seeing the doctor at the local clinic in Quartzsite.  We know too many veterans in our little community who have given up on the VA.

@JazzyV  Vanessa, the good grabber we have is SammonsPreston, if that helps.  It will only pick up a few clothes at a time, but it's better than bending over.

Lenda

Thank you for checking. I looked it up online. I had just ordered one very similar on Amazon. I'll also ask the therapist on Friday (hopefully I remember).

Tonight is the anniversary of the collision between the SS Andrea Doria and the Stockholm. How far maritime safety has come in 67 years . The seas off Nantucket continue to be challenging.

I remember that.

.... to to add to another discussion- a grabber is a wonderful thing as you get older and shorter.

@dfish I have these in my front garden!  Love them  DH does not, he asked the yard guys to pull them up, I stopped them and they put the bulbs down, so now I have more!  Yay!  Since they bloom the week before the 4th, I call them my firecracker flowers.

In Heathrow Airport on Air Belgium on BA295 to O’Hare.

We have a female Captain.

Ready to go it is 10:40 am.

Just had my morning glass of champagne. 🥂.

Bags are loaded, thanks to my AirTags.

Good to go.

Will check in when we get to O’Hare where we have a 5 1/2 hour layover before our flight to JAX.

Pray that we have a safe flight.

God bless,

Terri

I have some of those in my garden too.  I don't know their official name but I like what you call them.

I’m getting some for my yard.  @marshhawk glad you stopped the gardner before they were all pulled up.  I was told they are crocosemia lucifer.
