Yes every play counts for points free play, stateroom account or cash as long as you log in to your casino account

Is it possible to NOT log onto your casino account?  In a land based casino, I don't have to insert my Rewards Card, and the slot machine will still work.  But can I play slots on a ship without using a Medallion or Card?

And at the table games, the dealer always asks for my Medallion or Card.  Am I allowed to say "No"?  I can't really stay anonymous (the Medallion has RFID after all).

You can’t get paid without logging in or charge to your account. No login no play. Unless you get a handpay jackpot everything goes to your account

if you are playing the "free play account money" you do not accumulate points

You have to establish an account using your medallion.  You do not have to charge the amount you want to gamble with to your cabin, you can put in cash, but when done with the machine, the leftover money from the machine goes to your account.  At the end of the cruise you need to cash out if you still have money in your account.

We usually have $250 to $600 in free play every cruise and I can see my points accumulate as I log on and off of machines. The do show up while I am using the free play. If they didn’t accumulate I would not see anything for at least a day and I always see them

They used to allow free play to earn points but no longer.  You can earn points on the winnings.  For example if you put $20 of your free play into a machine, if you keep playing after the $20 is exhausted you'll see the points start being added to the counter on the machine.

Princess free play does not earn you points. Just off a VIP cruise, my points did not start to accumulate until all free play had been used. Of course, you can earn points at any time by just charging to your room even with free play still available, but why would anyone do that?

Confused. If I put $20.00 cash in machine can I cash out and receive a ticket like in land based casinos or do all winnings go to my shipboard account?

no paper tickets.

when you play, you have to create an account based on your cabin and your birthdate to establish who is playing.  Once you have an account, it keeps track of your play.  You can start by feeding in money into the machine and play, or you can charge $$$ to your cabin and that is now your starting money to play.

So if you charge $100 to your cabin it will show $100 credit on that machine, now you play and after 30 spins, at $1 a spin you are down to $70 credit, so you hate that machine and you want to move to another - hit the "cash out" button and the machine will let you know that $70 has been moved to your "bank".  You go to the next machine, put in your "code" and it will ask if you want to transfer all your money in your bank to this machine or just a portion.  And you start all over again.

Always make sure before you leave the machine, that you have cashed out and it says that the money has transferred to your bank.

Last I recall you will get a print-out ticket same as on a land casino.  I don't believe the machines force you to use your shipboard account nor will they turn down someone trying to insert cash.  Maybe things have changed and I haven't noticed because I use the shipboard account, but I don't think so.

No printed ticket.  All electronic saved to your CASINO account.

Would someone explain free casino credit?  Say I have a coupon for $10 if I “buy” $20.  Which gets used first?  Do I have to lose the $10 to get back my $20?

I don’t know what you mean by coupon. If you are a VIP casino player you may have “free play”. If so it show separate from your casino account and must be played before it can be cashed out. We generally have from $100 to $600 per person. Used to be up to $1000 but offers aren’t quite as good lately

Funds on your medallion if you have money there from your balance can be cashed out out the cage, no paper tickets.

As @echoshipmate said, there's no paper ticket and stand-alone ATM cash-out machine for you to collect your slot winnings/balance.  You have to go to the cage, which typically has a long line, to cash out.

I have one of those coupon "book" coupons.  "$10 in casino free play when you spend $20 in the casino."

Do I go to casino cage and turn in my coupon?  Do they add $10 to my $20 that I have to place?  Do I have to "lose" all my $20 before their $10 kicks in?

Simply go to the cash cage with your coupon.  You will be asked if you have played $20.  When you answer, yes, you will be given $10 in free play chips or $10 in free play on your account for slots, in exchange for your coupon.  Good Luck!

For all you casino folks: What are the hours for the Casino Bar? I don't see that info listed in the Patter's posted online.

Not all ships have a casino bar per se. You should be able to get drinks while playing whenever the casino cage is open. Some of the Royal class ships do not have a bar within the actual casino

the bar is usually closed when casino is closed.

I've noticed it is closed during most of the day or when in port. I was mostly wondering how late it stays open. I'm not sure how late the casino stays open but, from posts I've seen regarding late night casino time, I wondered how late the casino is open and if the bar stays open that late. The other bars seem to die around 11:00. I've seen Skywalker's open later on Grand Class ships but I've also experienced being the only one there around midnight and the staff calling to ask if they could close as they had essentially no customers. (It was a 28 day cruise and most folks were in bed by 10:00 PM. On the final 8 sea days coming back to LA from Tahiti they did get people up there at night but it was a "big crowd" of maybe 10 people.) Sometimes I may not be able to sleep and would appreciate a "sedative" drink or even  San Pellegrino but everywhere is closed so I wondered about the Casino Bar.
