Staff -  I have never, and I mean never seen a staff work harder to please than this bunch once it was clear that we were not going to Greenland.  It was impressive.  This Captain was one of the most personable we have ever had.

The ship for an old lady she looks pretty good, some wear and tear, but not really bad.  Where she EXCELLED was performance.  Handles the seas like no other (that I have been on in rough seas) and we made 20 + knots on the way home to scoot out of the way of the next monster that was trying to meet us half way.

The Journey cruise experience.  It is unique.  We had done several others, but only one other 14 day and that was on the Breeze in 2019 that hit most of the Caribbean and was prob the best cruise ever.  We knew this would be different, but boy, did we over achieve on that score.  Just a totally different vibe even BEFORE we got rerouted.  It was pretty surreal.  During a mid day update, the captain said we were sailing in the St Lawrence for the fourth time in five days.  Just surreal

The clientele.  Things I have never witnessed before on a Carnival ship.  There was ball room lessons almost every sea day in the lobby.  My guess is the average age was over 70 (on the ship).

One area that did not fare well was lunch on lido.  With a ship this size and weather….lets say not all that conducive to listening to steel band at the main pool area.  So at lunch time there were MANY and I mean MANY tables occupied with a couple or 3 or 4 playing games.  People had a hard time finding places to sit to eat.

Casino was BUSY each and every day.  Would have thought they would have run out of money…..😆

Entertainment. The playlist team on this ship is outstanding. One of the best we have ever seen, both talented in dance and sonf.  The rock band was almost as good, extremely talented as well.

Summary - was not the cruise we signed up for, but still had a really good cruise.  Whether you call it cup half full or half empty, we tried to make it a Journey.  Who knows, maybe we will remember this one more than any other.  Two weeks went by very fast.  On dry land for 5 days, already looking forward to the next one in November on the Horizon.  In the Interim, we have a trip to Portugal, Spain and France next month.  Until then, happy cruising

WOW no grass growing under @jimbo5544's feet that's for sure.

I agree with you just about ANY cruise is better than a day at the office or on land!

Enjoy your land trip and look forward to following your Horizon cruise!

Thoroughly enjoyed your review  I find the prices of Greenland cruises very overpriced so if they ever come down I might try one.  That said, I'm following another Greenland review on the Royal Caribbean board on the Jewel of the Sea.  Hope they make it to Greenland.

Thanks for the review, @jimbo5544! Sorry you didn't make Greenland but glad you were able to stay positive and make lemonade out of the impossible situation! I hope to be able to sail, break bread and have a pint with you one day. You and @Jamman54!

Thank you for the kind words, I owuld enjoy that as well.  While I have cruised with Jeff, it was a good while ago,  ould def enjoy doing that again with him and you.
