Albie19 Posted September 1, 2023 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Would appreciate any recommendations for Bermuda/Bahamas/Caribbean cruises - December 2023. Any comments on ship/port safety for solo traveler also appreciated.
jsn55 Posted September 1, 2023 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2023 You may find that a few details of your plans and specific queries about safety will generate some meaningful advice and opinions. I'd advise some research into your destination to give you a bit of an overview. If you're open to 'anything', then you could use an online search engine to generate specifics of the various cruises available. Make up a little 'spreadsheet' of the things that are important to you ... this makes comparing the various offerings much easier. Please come back with questions and we'll be glad to answer ... CC forum participants are a treasure-trove of information and opinions and we love to help.

Any comments on ship/port safety for solo traveler also appreciated. FYI. you won't find more than a handful of cruises that call on Bermuda in December because it's off season. Many of the cruises that do have a Bermuda call in December are on ships that are repositioning from one homeport area to another such as from Europe to Florida, and their Bermuda stops are usually very brief. If you want to do a more typical Bermuda cruise that has a two or three day stay there you should look at cruises from April through October. There will be an almost limitless selection of Bahamas and Caribbean cruises in December, but there's a huge range of ships and prices and it would be impossible to make recommendations without knowing what you're looking for and your budget. Rare mom says Posted September 1, 2023 #5 Share Posted September 1, 2023 As njhorseman has pointed out there are literally hundreds of cruises sailing to the Bahamas/Caribbean in December. Without knowing exactly what you want and your budget, no one here can properly advise you. Find a cruise specialist TA and have a detailed discussion with them. Just be aware that cruises only 3 months out may not have a great deal of choice left as to cabin selection.
Rare Essiesmom Posted September 1, 2023 #6 Share Posted September 1, 2023 Also, are you wanting to drive to the port (NY,NJ, Baltimore…) or are you willing to fly to your departure port? Flying can add considerable cost, and you would want to fly in a day early which adds hotel costs. Close your eyes and tell us what you are seeing yourself doing on a cruise. What you envision doing can help use make cruise line/itinerary suggestions. EM
