Sometimes I get notification from app even though I don't have internet plan with carnival

Once in a while I would get notifications from App even though I didn't subscribe to carnival internet on the iphone. Anyone ever have this happen, it doesn't happen but sometimes once a day I would get a bunch of notification from the apps but my internet still does not work but I am connected to carnival wifi for the regular app

its normal. i noticed the same thing on carnival and other cruise lines. it seems like there is limited free internet that makes various app sync in the background like email/facebook/etc notifications to work. only the notification itself works . if you try to open it, that app wont sync and wont show anything new

It happens occasionally. My blink camera sends notifications when I am on a cruise. I think even My Domino's app has sent a notification onboard. It is a certain type of notification that Carnival needs for their app so other apps sneak through.

I got some I-messages, Facebook, and Snap and Chat messages plus notifications from my security camera.

Maybe it is a marketing tool for Carnival Internet.  You see the notification and HAVe to have internet to be able to read it so you buy the intenet plan. $$$ for Carnival

I could pretty much keep up with work through the notifications from Teams and Outlook. Was kind of nice, and annoying at the same time.

You could see the Teams & Outlook notifications but not respond to them, correct?

yes. i noticed the same thing. outlook will not sync or show anything. only the notification appears

To put it simply, all notifications on iPhones are delivered the same way. So if Carnival wants the HUB app to be able to get notifications they have to allow all notifications.

This happened to me on a Celebrity cruise as well.  It was on both android and iphone.  We were only connected to ship's wifi in airplane mode, not using the internet access plan and we still got app notifications but if you clicked on the notification it didnt work.

I will get notified from the hub that of things

coming up on a cruise and I am not even on one. Did not have one scheduled. They will tell m it’s formal night of all out and then come get you pictures taken, or the welcome aboard show is about to begin to want to mis it. It will even tell me when trivia starts.

It sounds like you haven't logged out on the app.
