Loving this as I just booked for November out of Brooklyn!

As many who know me-you know what question i am going to ask......LOL:

What English TV channels are there and how much to rent pay per view movies??

Believe it or not-this is the one thing that keeps MSC from being my first choice. Crazy as it sounds.

TV Channels are as follows:

  1. Safety (English - German)
  2. Safety (Italian - French)
  3. Safety (Spanish - Portuguese)
  4. MSC Foundation
  5. MSC Cruise Info
  6. MSC Your Cruise EN
  7. MSC Your Cruise IT
  8. MSC Your Cruise FR
  9. MSC Your Cruise ES
  10. MSC Your Cruise GE
  11. MSC Excursion
  12. MSC Shop
  13. MSC Photo
  14. MSC Casino
  15. MSC Aurea Spa
  16. Future Cruise & MSC Voyagers Club
  17. Port Shopping
  18. MSC Effy
  19. Virtual Porthole PS
  20. Virtual Porthole STB
  21. CNN
  22. TCM
  23. Travel
  24. HGTV
  25. Food
  26. Discovery CH
  27. Cartoon
  28. NickOnboard
  29. ESPN
  30. ESPN2

I would say it's a little more complex and a little more luck-based. We still had a lot of fun playing it and will play it many more times on this trip, I am sure.

We’ve brought Splendor on cruises and last cruise we brought Carcassonne but never played!  Always looking for fun new games!  7 Wonders Duel is pretty decent

What’s the website for your blog?

Enjoying your reviews!

Do you have any comments on the embarkation in Boston?  We are on the next cruise from NYC and saw there were long lines for embarking. Thanks!!

@JamieLogical  Wonderful write up for you day in Boston.

You mentioned your "Free WiFi" - Is that a Voyagers Club thing or was it free/included with your cabin?

It is the Browse Wifi that came with my booking, which also included the Easy Plus drink package and $100 of OBC for a balcony.

Since we didn't get off the ship, I really can't comment. Disembarkation was really late, so I imagine it was a madhouse getting off the ship. I heard there were lines to get back on the ship around 2:00, which I as the original all aboard time. I wonder if a lot of people didn't realize that had been pushed back to 4:00 with the delays.

Hmmmm my 11/5 Aurea balcony came with Browse, easy+, $50obc

Did you get $100 because you booked onboard? Higher Voyagers? MSC loves you more then me???

Looking forward to Poutine review!!

I played in the new annex area by the Champagne Bar. I lost my daily budget quickly, but at least there was no smoke.

Can't wait to try this area on the 4th Oct cruise, though I imagine it doesn't contain an electronic roulette table... that's my favourite.

Very odd that the ship was late for arrival. You were sitting in front of my house at 6:30. I’m 9 miles out of the harbor. Just watched Explora 1 come in this morning.

We were near Boston, the issue was getting the pilot onboard, apparently.

Ah, there was a man over board from the tanker next to you. He was found by a fishing boat and brought safely to shore. Hence the tardiness of your port arrival. There was a search in progress.

Everyone who is not at Britt's in St. John New Brunswick and eating chicken and Chicken & Waffle Poutine today has made worse life choices than me.

Britts food is yummy, I'm from Saint John (not st John) we are a bit touchy on that.. Lol. I'll be on the meraveglia for bermuda cruise in Nov. Thanks for the great posts

The price for this sailing was really good. It may be a bit cool by late September, but I am hoping we will still get to see a lot of beautiful fall foliage. My last CA & NE cruise was last fall and it was over Halloween, so much later in the season and we still enjoyed nice weather in ports, though not many leaves left on the trees by then. It's definitely a different experience from a Caribbean cruise. I am not a pool deck sort of person, so it doesn't bother me if it's too cold to lay out by the pool. I will say my first CA & NE cruise was the first week of June back in 2018 and it actually snowed on deck. That one was so cold that it really did force everyone indoors and made the ship feel much more crowded than it otherwise would have.

Hi @JamieLogical

We actually met you on the Breakaway two years ago to Bermuda, and right after that cruise DH and I booked a NE cruise on the Pearl which we're FINALLY taking next week! WOO-HOO!  Of course, we've been on several cruises since then, but going to the Caribbean now sort of feels like you've seen one island you've seen 'em all to us.

So, we Floridians (who are also not pool deck sort of people) wanted to try a different adventure.  This one goes from Quebec City and ends up in Boston.  We are so excited as we've not been to any of these ports before.

I look forward to reading more of your posts about the Canada/New England area.

I love me some chicken and waffles -- but you can have all my gravy and cheese curds.  Tried it once, did not like it.
