Sailer Loot question

It’ll be our first time on VV but not new to cruising.  I logged into my account (not the app) and all the loot and bar tab is mine.  I guess the easiest way to share it is to make my credit card the main and allow him charging privileges?  The loot can be used by both of us to book shore excursions etc, till it runs out?  Thank you!

If your cabin is set up with only one credit card to manage all payments onboard, the Loot and Bar Tab will be shared by both Sailors in the cabin.  If you would like to use two separate credit cards for each individual Sailor, you will set that up when you check-in via the App. Note that the Sailor Loot and Bar Tab will be credited to the primary Sailor only if you use two cards.

Sailor Loot can be used in the Casino.

I'm pretty sure you can only use it for shore excursions booked on board, in other words not in advance.  Then try to cancel and rebook while on board, which can be tricky and might cause you to lose your reservations (there's a thread about it currently, look around).  I had wanted to use mine for that but have decided it will be better served in the casino (there's a thread about that, too, thanks for reminding me to go copy what you need to do to use it there).

Otherwise it can also be used for additional bar tab, buying upcharge menu items in the dining rooms, spa, shopping, etc.

Small correction--Loot cannot be used to buy "bar tab," but it can be used to purchase alcohol or other drinks.  A bar tab can only be purchased in advance of your trip and in $300 increments.

Ok thanks.  We had more than enough bar tab (hic!) but I was wondering if you ran out on the last day if you could just pay as you go (against your Loot) - guess not.  So if you're close it's a balancing act because you don't want to run out or pay another $300 for one day!

If you run out of bar tab, you can totally pay as you go against your loot.  BUT, you cannot turn loot into a bar tab as you implied in the earlier post.  And you CANNOT pay another $300 for another day.

A bar tab is either purchased or given as a perk before boarding.  If you do not have a bar tab or if you use up your bar tab, the next source of payment for any charged beverage purchase is any loot you have left.  If you use up all the loot, it will be charged to your credit card.  In every case after boarding, the amount you are "charged" for the drink, whether the charge is covered by bar tab, loot, or credit card, is the amount shown on the menu + any local taxes required if the ship is not in international waters.

Yeah, durn semantics.  When I say "bar tab" I don't mean it in the VV sense, but rather, super simply, when you buy a drink that's your "bar tab".  But always happy to learn new things.
