cruisegirl1 Posted October 4, 2023 #5 Share Posted October 4, 2023 (edited) Casinos are on one floor per ship but may be on different floors on different ships. Oasis class ships have removed the Jazz club and put in a SMALL non smoking casino. M Edited October 4, 2023 by cruisegirl1
Tlbecker1 Posted October 4, 2023 #6 Share Posted October 4, 2023 Some ships aren’t too bad, but like what others have said, there is only one floor. It can be unbearable depending on how many smokers there are.

I was thinking more of just smoking but while I would love for it to not exist anywhere, that won't likely ever happen!

I think your comment was that they (Royal) were pandering to smokers elsewhere but they aren’t in Australia but it’s just business. Statistically any casino that allows smoking will generate more income than one that will not. Statistically any casino on cruises from the US or UK will generate more income than an Australian cruise that will not allow smoking. I don’t smoke and don’t like smoke in the casino but if I owned a casino I would want smokers.

Maybe... but the trends are turning toward non-smoking. Here's some info for Tribal Casinos which have been smoke free for three years... "Berkeley, CA – With more than 160 Tribal casino properties operating smokefree in Fiscal Year 2022, Tribal gaming set a revenue record last year, according to a new report by the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC). The report shows that Tribal casinos generated a record-setting $40.9 billion in 2022 and offers an example of casinos thriving while operating smokefree for only three years." KEG21552 Posted October 4, 2023 #17 Share Posted October 4, 2023 The casino on the Allure 2 weeks ago was disgusting. Sorry smokers. That is probably the one reason we won’t be on a Royal cruise any time soon. Rest of trip was amazing but the entire atrium level midship stunk of smoke. You could smell it as soon as you got off elevators. The non smoking casino was probably 1//10 the size of the other. There is a non -smoking side, but the smoke apparently doesn’t follow rules. We became Diamond on Royal and transferred to Elite on Celebrity and for the past few years that has been our cruise line of choice. The smoking casino and the bumper car stroller derby just isn’t for me.

No they follow the law of where the cruise departs from. That’s why all the ship that sail from Europe have smoke free casinos.

Nessa1dc Posted October 6, 2023 #20 Share Posted October 6, 2023 To the OP....Most Royal casinos have a Smoking and Non Smoking side. Not a different floor. However, Royal now has a ship that has a smaller "Non-Smoking" casino. That should end the issue, right? But as you can see by this thread....those that will complain...must complain. For those that hate smoking but want to go to the casino....try Wonder of the Seas.

I really enjoy the smoke free tribal casinos. So much cleaner and better smelling than before. Smoke free also comes with reduced cleaning costs.
