I didn't care for the layout of the Prima at all. I'm excited to follow along with this thread. This is probably the first opportunity to improve on the issues with prima & viva - as Viva was likely too far along in construction once prima launched to change anything. Similar to how things changed with the Escape, which was the first Breakaway Plus Class ship, which of course was slightly larger than the Breakaway & Getaway. texangal39 Posted November 15, 2023 #85 Share Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) Was looking to book a Solo Balcony and it says “Not Available” while the regular solo says “Sold Out”. Does anyone know the difference between these two statuses? I’ll probably call later today, but thought I’d ask here first in case someone already got the answer. EDIT: For clarity, my question is about the “Not Available” vs “Sold Out Status”. Edited November 15, 2023 by texangal39

I would think regular solo would be the single design cabins. The solo balconies are a limited number of normal balconies sold as solos with the recent program change. Usually if I forget to do that I get a Not Available under the studio cabins. If so, then I can't imagine why it would show that at this early stage. I did a mock booking for the Aqua TA a few days ago and it showed both Studios and solo balcony avaiable. 1

The system automatically selected 2 guests and I couldn’t figure out where it was doing it since I was simply looking at the available dates and cabin types and had not signed in to book yet. Normally when I sign in to book it asks me the number of passengers first. Oh, well, just happy to be able to book 🥰
Rare JIMESOPUS Posted November 26, 2023 #90 Share Posted November 26, 2023 A couple of tidbits from being aboard the Viva these past 21 days. Racetrack was scrapped because of the weight of the track and the configuration of the newer ship. Aqua extension will be from the aft elevators on back, thus more Haven cabins, 2 story cabins and improvements to the Haven area. Syds is moving down to deck #6 in an area where the smoking casino is right now. Commodore MDR will be bigger. Tweaks to the Atrium was also reported, more open was a common theme. We all know that NCL loves to send out disinformation to throw us off the track in searching for the truth, but right now I'll take anything. 7

Diannee Posted December 11, 2023 #94 Share Posted December 11, 2023 We are booking a May 2025 cruise on the Aqua and looking at Balcony cabins. I know it isn't completed and the video on ncl.com isn't actual footage but it looks like the 2 aft cabins (non-Haven) share a balcony with no privacy panel. We have only cruised one time before so I am hoping some of you with more experience will have an idea if this is correct or not.

The Atrium itself will be larger if I compare the different blocks from the Istanbul strait pass photos (Prima's hull number 6298 vs hull 6300 for Aqua) from X/Twitter taken May '23. FreestyleNovice Posted December 14, 2023 #96 Share Posted December 14, 2023 (edited) Made a quick side by side, roughly the same size in deck height: Don't get distracted by the top floor windows of the Atrium already in place, I count more porthole windows and it has more glass panels than 6298. And the space between the Atrium and the first lifeboat davit is more too. Took the 6300 photo from https://twitter.com/DenizUlke/status/1657667940311769093 Edited December 14, 2023 by FreestyleNovice add X source

I only have the renderings to look at but IMO, it would have been better to have made these 2BR (upstairs)/2.5 bathroom staterooms. The 1st floor could have used the space for living room & dining room with a 1/2 bath while upstairs would have been for sleeping. I'm booked in a Duplex Suite on MSC World America and it will be my first time in a Duplex stateroom. It only has 1 BR/2BA but it does have an upper and lower balcony with a hot tub on the lower balcony. I'm not crazy about the location of that one, either but I'll see how it is in 2025.

I see your point. RCCL has a suite like that where the ground level is all living and dining area to hang out. I am curious why you think these are in a bad location? I am still trying to learn the deck plans of Aqua and you must know something that I am not aware.
lemon bar Posted December 18, 2023 #100 Share Posted December 18, 2023 (edited) Hi all! We were supposed to sail on Viva in 2024, ended up booking a completely different vacation. So we are booking Aqua. I have a question about the family suite with master if anyone has the answer? On Viva, both sides have a slide that runs through part of the (quite large) balcony, on Aqua only one side has it. I inadvertently picked the deck 12 side with no slide. Not sure what is there if the slide isn't, assuming just empty space. Would you switch to the side with the slide or keep the side without? Just looking for thoughts on the matter, thanks! edited to add - sailing in March 2026. Long ways away, but 2024/25 already have our vacations planned.
