Song of America

Can anyone confirm that the former Song of America (Celestyal Olympia) is being scrapped? It has been stated in a prohibited blog that this is the case. I cannot find any news articles on this.

She is the ship that started our many wonderful cruises with RCI!

She has been replaced by the former AidaAura and as no one will buy such a ship she should go to a scrap yard soon.

She will finish out the season shortly and be retired by Celestyal and offered for sale.

Very unlikely anyone but the breakers will bid on a 41 year old ship.

It has been reported that the ship was sold. New owners are unknown but it’s being reported in multiple places that she is heading to a yard to be recycled. The ship is now 41 years of age. She has served well.

This was our Honeymoon cruise!  The first time, of many, we would make fools of ourselves on the Newlywed Game/Love & Marriage on board shows!

Aloha. I have read from several sources that sadly that seems to be the case. Having been blessed to cruise since 1971 we loved the Song of America. Many ships we have sailed in have met the breakers and we have fond memories and memorabilia which I look at often.  All the best!
