pompeii Posted December 1, 2023 #4 Share Posted December 1, 2023 If you're platinum or elite you should automatically get the discount in the app. It should clearly show the 50% discount. You don't have to pay full price and wait for a credit on the ship. If the app doesn't show the discount, it's because the app does not reflect your correct captain's circle level. I'm familiar with this because the app switches me from black to blue for some reason every time there's an update. I have to contact askoceanmedallion@carnival.com to get them to fix it. DH is correct and shows the discount. Purchased through his account and the discount applied. It turns out that our cruise showed the status on our confirmation -- the status we were at the time of booking. Since then, we'd moved to platinum. I just booked some excursions pre-cruise and was surprised to see we were charged full price, without he 10% Elite discount. Then I read that the 10% will be deducted when we board. I took this information directly from the Princess site, selecting the footnote 12 link on the Elite benefit of 10% off shore excursions: https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/cc/captains-circle-loyalty-benefits.pdf I see the same language for the wifi (footnote #7), so I'd think that once you board you'd see those discounts? For the excursions you don't get the discount until after you actually take the excursion. Reina del Mar Posted December 4, 2023 #18 Share Posted December 4, 2023 Mine does not show the Wi Fi discount pre cruise, but last summer a visit to Guest Services sorted it within minutes..and we paid the price at 50% instead of having to fuss with OBC…of course if Princess does increase the price, that might be an issue.
