Rare Haljo1935 Posted January 2 Author #576 Share Posted January 2 Phone has recharged a bit, so I'm able to take pictures again. Y'all know I do like taking pictures 😏 Theater is filling up for the early showing of "Gravity." I have not seen this before - another 1st! Kristen says it's time to start This cutie was waiting for me when I stopped by cabin to grab my phone. There was a chocolate (the old Square one w/HAL logo) and a note re time change. You can read about the time change, but I ate the chocolate. 🫣 Also basket of clean laundry - I'll spare you that picture, lol. 9

canadianbear Posted January 2 #579 Share Posted January 2 I love the towel animals but missed the eyes so on our November Eurodam cruise brought eyes 😁 I agree, HAL laundry is the best.
Rare Haljo1935 Posted January 2 Author #580 Share Posted January 2 This was in the Daily, but I totally forgot to mention tonight at Tamarind is a special menu. I could not find the menu on the Navigator or the TV, but found this someone had shared from a previous cruise (maybe it's correct).

Rare Haljo1935 Posted January 2 Author #582 Share Posted January 2 (edited) Tomorrow's Daily: Evening line up looks good: Crow's Nest 5pm, BB King's 7pm, BB King's 9pm Is there an Orange Party? Where's The Orange Party? Did you say there's an Orange Party? I do not see an Orange Party Bar Crawl (Hop) listed. Last month on NS, there was a crawl - $25/4 bars/4 drinks 🤔 Edited January 2 by Haljo1935 Remove duplicate pic
Rare Haljo1935 Posted January 2 Author #583 Share Posted January 2 Poor timing on my hunger this evening. I wasn't hungry at dinner time, so I skipped MDR. Tummy said "feed me" at 830, but Lido was closed. So... Mint chocolate chip gelato w/waffle cone party hat - poolside at the big screen. This is dinner and a show at its finest, lol. Popcorn aplenty...

oldbluff Posted January 2 #585 Share Posted January 2 I don't recall seeing anything in this thread on The Rolling Stones Rock Room band. They are excellent on this sailing. Best of the handful of our cruises that had this venue. Their performance at the New Years Eve party was memorable. 3

Hogladyrider Posted January 2 #588 Share Posted January 2 @Haljo1935...how has the air conditioning been on the ship in the evenings? I usually need long sleeves or a sweater when we got out and about to the venues.

Our time there has been cut from something like 7 hours down to just a few - we arrive 7pm. So, realistically won't see much.🙄 If I could have a yummy meal, I'd be mostly happy.😏 Just wanted to make a comment about your Sacher Torte a couple of posts ago - we absolutely love them. Actually, we went o the Hotel Sacher in Vienna in 2016. Loved theirs so much I ordered two whole tortes for our 50th Anniversary a couple of months later. They were shipped to my home near Seattle from Vienna. About $150 for two delivered. Worth every penny as we shared them with about 30 friends.

Bringing something with sleeves is a great idea - I've been wearing a lightweight long sleeve shirt like a jacket around the ship. So much so, people probably think I wear the same clothes everyday, lol. I do not need it in the library, though. Thermostat in the cabin stays about in the middle. The line may be hard to see. Rare VMax1700 Posted January 2 #600 Share Posted January 2 19 hours ago, ArizonaStorm said: Also, when I step aboard the ship on the 13th, the ruling monarch of Denmark will be Queen Margrethe II. She announced yesterday her plan to abdicate the throne on the 14th of January. Her elder son, Frederik, will become the "Koning" -- the King of Denmark on that day. It will be fun to be sailing on the King's Ship on that day. The Captain should make an announcement of some sort. 19 hours ago, Haljo1935 said: Yes, I read about Queen Margrethe abdicating; I think Captain should recognize it and will be curious to hear what he says. Guys, quick geography lesson.......Denmark is not Holland. Danish is not Dutch. HAL has no connection with Denmark. The ships are registered in Holland. The accession of the Danish monarchy has no relevance, so why would the captain of a Dutch registered ship mention it? 9 3
