Vista Drydock

I know Vista is heading to drydock next month.

Do they normally change the bedding

(Mattress) at this time? We were on Magic last month and that was my only complaint. Everyone we spoke with had the same issue.

We are taken the whole clan in May

Thanks

From what I understand it could be, but a drydock is not required to change out the bedding. They can do that without a scheduled drydock.

So, it just depends how long it's been since the mattresses were last changed out, but it is quite likely they will be as all the staterooms are likely to be refreshed given the timely drydock.

Beyond that, I read in another thread here the other day that they will be taking out the IMAX theater currently on the Vista and be replacing it with a smoking-free casino in its place. Other than this I don't know what else.

OH NO I was hoping the IMAX would stay (I was planning to book this ship and one of the reasons was for the IMAX) - but maybe it wasn't a hit

We cruise her in February and were looking forward to this as well.😪

Just as a note, there hasn't been any official confirmation of what's going to take place during dry dock.  People are only stating what they've heard, and who knows how credible the sources of this information are.  I've heard a couple of different things myself, but John Heald has said that he will post on his page once he has official word of what's actually going to be done.

There is a lot of people speculating and spitballing here and on facebook etc. Please do not repeat that speculation and spitballing as fact.

There is absolutely no proof to the assertion that they're removing the IMAX theater.

I would be happy with a new coat of paint ( she was starting to look a little kmart ) and a really good scrub up.

The sad reality is if Carnival cared they would have already done this because they can do these things without a drydock.

I am bumping this up as I too am curious to what is currently taking place. At this point, I am not sure why they are being so tight lipped about it?

Expect nothing aside from the new red white and blue hull livery. That way when that’s all that is done, you won’t be disappointed.

Is this her first regularly scheduled drydock (apart from the azipods repair a while back)? Remember, most of what goes on during a drydock isn't full fledged remodeling. It's all the behind the scenes 'safety and soundness' stuff as required by maritime law. I'd expect anything noticeable (besides the hull paint job) to be strictly revenue related. IF the IMAX goes, it's because it has been a loser for the company.

Built in 2016, wet dock in 2021.

Its pretty hard to paint the entire ship while it is still in service.

It would nice if they can add Teppanyaki.

I am hoping for the same thing.  It wouldn't be too difficult to rearrange and put the piano bar over where the library is currently.  Just like Panorama and Horizon.

They usually keep things quiet until it is closer to the end of dry dock, that way if something happens, and something doesn't get added, people can't whine that they booked for only that reason.

they can paint pretty much everything except for what is below the water line while the ship is in service

They generally paint everything when changing the colors.  When in port, they just touch up.
