MrStewart Posted January 8 #1 Share Posted January 8 I love reading these reviews, so I figured I'd throw in my 2 cents for the MSC Seashore 2 night cruise on Jan 5, 2024. We are normal blue collar people, played Redneck Yacht Club in the car driving to the port! Things to KNOW Port Canaveral parking does not open until 10am, you may get in line at 9am. Prior to getting in line to park, I suggest dropping off your luggage so you don't have to wheel it across the lot. Yacht Club embarkation - BEST OF THE BEST! We signed in at the check-in luggage tent just for Yacht Club, then went to the escalator where the MSC attendant stopped the line from general boarding to put us on the escalator. At the top of the escalator, we were directed to a separate line for security screening. Then off to the waiting area to get our key cards, the total time from start to finish was less than 7 minutes. 7 minutes. NO JOKE! The ship was boarding at 12pm - we sat in the waiting area for approx 45 minutes drinking champagne Right at 12pm the doors opened for Yacht club to board the ship. You were met with all the BUTLERS who escorted you to the elevators for the ride to deck 16, the YC lounge until your rooms were ready. Staff was there with champagne as you entered and the bar was fully stocked ready for you to order! YC rooms were ready for entry about 1:30, plenty of time to enjoy lunch in the YC restaurant with a few beverages prior to getting in your room. On the lunch menu was a FILET and veggies for lunch! YES PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!! We were in room 19002 - smack dab in the middle! Enormous balcony, dang near 180* views if you stood on the chair!! Felt like we were driving the ship! The room was ginormous ... the walk-in closet was awesome for changing inside and the shower was HUGE, 2 person fit comfortably! FLAWS of the YC: not a ***** or complaint, just a couple of flaws ... the YC pool did NOT have music. I know, minor, but hard to wear ear buds in the water without destroying them. The pool/spas in the YC also opened at 8am and closed at 8pm --- a night time spa wasn't allowed?! The lounge was very quiet, very awesome views, but they didn't offer any special games, trivia, or anything like that? Yes, there were musical entertainers, nothing head banging or loud ... accoustic guitar/singer plus a piano lounge player. The YC area on Ocean Cay - private island did not have a great lunch area - not enough seating for lunch, and the restroom was only for 1 person. Minor gripes, I know, but this is informative for those wanting to know. The FOOD was fantastic - the COFFEE was fantastic - the DRINKS were fantastic - NO UPCHARGE, NO ADDITIONAL TIPS, NO SH!T ... you order, you get, included!!!!! Pay the extra few bucks and get in the Yacht Club for your next cruise. You will appreciate the perks!!! LEAVING THE SHIP: The butlers will escort you to the EXIT point, the line leaving was 1000 people deep, not for YC - you just simply walked past the lines and got off! BEST PROCESS EVER!!!!!!!!! 7
cellfree Posted January 8 #2 Share Posted January 8 Appreciate your summary, we are experiencing Yacht Club for first time in March, have 14 ( I think) MSC cruises under our belt but never Yacht Club, very excited.

Thank you for this! We are sailing on the Seashore this Sunday, January 14, for 4 days. We can't wait. This will be our 4th cruise with MSC (5th if you count the one that was booked for 2020 and got cancelled) and our 3rd time in YC. We LOVE the Yacht Club for all of the reasons you described. We aren't driving there, we're taking an Uber from Orlando. Very excited to hear about the champagne and the private security lines at Port Canaveral. Again, thanks for your review! Rare pirate4me2 Posted January 9 #7 Share Posted January 9 HAHA you sound like me and my mom when we did our first YC cruise last year. We were fish out of water, not used to all the pampering we received! It was amazing, I cannot wait to experience it again. Thanks for the review! There is a form that will be sent via text or email ... it's USELESS My mini bar had soda and heineken - asked for RUM and VODKA .. and the pillow choices don't work either, just empty your bar when you get there and ask your butler for a new pillow

So there will typically be beer and soda in the mini bar...

The mini bar is not customizable beforehand. And even if you do get the "email" chances are almost 100% that your choices will not make it to the ship. Royal Suites and Owner's Suites on Seashore had several full-sized bottles with unlimited replacements on my most recent Seashore cruise. The porter who took our heavy luggage on embarkation day was lucky compared to the porter who took our luggage back to the car on disembarkation day. 2
Fogfog Posted January 12 #16 Share Posted January 12 We never use much in our mini bar..and cannot imagine needing full bottles. Everything we could want is at the lounge and our butler will bring us bev to the cabin Same for snacks-- there is so much offered at meals that we never take advantage of all of the snacks in the lounge, tea, etc. And never eat the snacks in the mini bar. Love YC sailing.

Interesting. When we sailed another line-- we had gotten several bottles of champagne etc from CD etc and left them marked with notes to staff along with cash tips. Wrote their name on bottle so they wouldn't be accused of misappropriation etc. There is only so much one can eat/drink on a cruise and despite our best efforts-- 😁-- there is always more As long as one is driving to the port- then I guess one can haul it home. Can't fly with a handle in carryon🙃

I think the top-top brass were on the cruise just prior to the 2-night. That said there were a lot of senior officer families on board over the holiday as I understand.
