I noticed I have been somewhat remiss on the dinner food porn.

Last night was at Luminae and they have one of our favorite entrees— short ribs.

Here is the menu :

IMG_5465.jpeg

DW and I had the same thing—

Burrata,

French Onion soup,

Short ribs.

Forgot to get a picture of the burrata but here are the short ribs:

IMG_5466.jpeg

Very tender, IOHO, one of the best entrees at Luminae.

My wife agrees with you. She had the short ribs last night also. 😊

I’m late to the party, but I’m caught up😊 Thanks so much for sharing your voyage with us! You’re giving me a restorative break from our owners’ bath renovation, which has been plagued with many issues and delays😬 How I wish we could meet you in the WCB for a cocktail or two😋 Cheers!

Strayed from Luminae for lunch today 😳😳😳😳. Went to Cosmopolitan. Here is the menu:

More “basic” menu but we enjoyed it. It’s a nice room that seems big after Luminae.

For those trivia buffs, we had the most enjoyable movie trivia with Flori in the Club. He acted out a scene from a classic movie , with the hints being the year it was released and a couple of the lead stars. He did all 12 scenes himself, complete with some costume changes and props. It was a great twist on the usual trivia session. He will definitely be getting a mention in our survey.

Rooftop Garden tonight . Hope it’s not too windy.

Hello, if you are willing, will you please ask the Excursions staff about the status of restarting the excursions to Blue Lagoon. We sail Feb 4 on this beautiful ship, and I would really like to go. My heart goes out to everyone impacted in November. My understanding is that the investigation is complete and Blue Lagoon is open again. But, it's still not in the Celebrity planner for booking, and I have called and the folks say they haven't heard anything. I'm just wondering if staff on the ship have any information to share as I guess folks are asking about their cancelled Blue Lagoon excursions. Thanks so much!

Morning!

Not a big thing but if you happen to talk to a sommelier tonight would you ask about the upscale wine tasting? I guess that’s what I would call it.

We were I believe on Apex and only learned of this wine tasting when our sommelier asked us if we would be interested in a nice wine tasting. It was held in Tuscan. The wine was paired with very nice cheeses and a head sommelier talked about each wine.

There is one listed on the app but we saw that one and it was held outside Craft Social and people just waked around from one set up to the next just tasting wine.

Thanks!

Cheers!

Good morning from Grand Cayman !

IMG_5515.jpeg

IMG_5516.jpeg

Yesterday was a lazy sea day.

Dinner was at Rooftop Garden Grill—- our first time. My top is to go hungry and skip lunch 😂😂.

I had the port slider trio as an appetizer:

IMG_5498.jpeg
My wife had the chicken wings with dry rub:

IMG_5499.jpeg

Both were very good! For entrees, I had the BBQ 1/2 chicken with a fabulous side of bacon mac and cheese.

IMG_5504.jpeg

My wife had the brisket:

IMG_5505.jpeg

My wife thought the brisket was a little too fatty for her taste, the chicken was moist and not at all dry.

The other sides were, mac&cheese, baked beans and creamed corn.

IMG_5506.jpeg

We really didn’t want a beef entree but next time we will probably do the filet.

Then …… DESSERT.

My chocoholic wife had to have the cookie. She said it was one of the best she has ever had.

IMG_5508.jpegI had the cherry apple pie:

Once I took my wife’s vanilla ice cream and added it to the cherry apple pie, it was very good, but it needed that ice cream !!

Today we may take a quick trip ashore for a short time—— or we may not .

😂 Didn’t know you had to work today did ya!

The wine tasting that is listed is World Wine Tour $39.99, it’s not that one. The one I am enquiring about was closer to I think around $100 PP.

Cheers!

We just got back from Jan7 Ascent and did this wine tasting.  It did not seem to be sold in advance, only on the ship. It was called the premier wine and cheese pairing I think. $99pp plus grat. We purchased from the sommelier in La Voyage on our first nights dinner. He said the last wine was going to be a Caymus reserve cab, it wasn't. It turned out to be an Opus red blend. TOTALLY WORTH the cost. There was also a Vueve Clicquot rose start. Nice cheeses, strawberry, grape, dried fig pairings.

Hi, Did you happen to notice up there if the Roof Top Grill does gourmet burgers for sea day lunch?

Some S-class do - I think maybe the Reflection...Delicious, and a great break from other crowded sea day lunch spots.

Thanks for taking the time to report for us all.

Grand Cayman water looks beautiful..We usually don't get off in GC,  but if there are not too many ships...and water is  relatively calm   maybe get off for lunch.  We usually find a quiet spot on a side street..but sipping a drink with a water view sounds good too!  Dont forget tine change from ships time!

Does the Ascent have a live craps table and texas holdem table.   (Not digital)

I have seen the Texas hold’em table and they do have live craps, didn’t catch the minimum bet.

Thank you, That's exactly it. The event was well worth the $$$. I'll ask our sommelier the first night about it.

Cheers!
