Some sections are. Some are open with a gentle reminder to not wear high heels on the grass. They rotate sections so each can have some rest without the herds stampeding over them.

Actually, stilettos are good because they aerate the lawn. Makes a mess of the shoes though.

Thought I read on another recent live X thread that the welcome sparkling could be found at Cafe al Bacio?  Not that I necessarily trust my memory these days haha, but might be worth a try to check there.

it's definitely real. Looks very sad.

speaking of attractions, do you see any ping pong tables, and is pickleball available on the ship? I know there should be ping pong tables, but the last video that I saw had them in the elevator bank foyer. Weird placement.

I saw them by the elevators. Indeed a strange place for it. I will keep my eyes peeled for a set outdoors as well as pickleball.

Sorry to hear that.  Always disappointing when things look great but don't measure up.

I was hopeful  but honestly I've never found the buffet here to be very good. Dining room is usually much better though.

as a mom who makes sure the kid is fed first, I've always "enjoyed" cold buffet food.... 😞 So, to me it makes no difference if the food started out nice and hot.

I'll have to do better next time at eating quicker to see if it started out at the proper temperature. It just opened before I got there so one would think it would still be fresh

I know appearances aren’t everything, but I thought those freshly made while cakes that appeared sometimes on Carnival looked far more inviting.

Way better cakes over there although the new pre cut cakes aren't that good the ones they slice from the whole cake are quite tasty. These were meh but glad I tried them. The Cafe al bacio desserts are much better and so are the ice cream and bread puddings. I won't go hungry for sure.

Interesting. I don't know why they say that then. I don't wear heels so I'm good either way  🤪

It seems to vary ship to ship if they are offering the sparkling wine.  But if do it is on trays at Cafe al Bacio.  That’s on Deck 5 same deck you embark on.

Thanks I will check there next.

Got my exercise before going to the gym. Elevators were mobbed sou took the stairs. Stopped off at the room instead to charge the phone. I was careful to not make a mess in case they room was not ready for me. Got a little charge and left the room since I'm not supposed to be there yet.

Now I'm at the gym 🏋️‍. Getting in two miles then may peek at the sauna but I want to see if al bacio has the welcome drink for me before they put it away.

No bubbly here either. I'm on the fence about what to do now.

Drinks are free at the casino for players but I have no idea if the service is sufficient to be worthwhile. I planned to test it out before dinner but they don't indicate free drinks until 6.

I may purchase a bottle at dinner. I don't really need two bottles but one is not going to get me through the night unless i fall asleep. I'm sure I could buy a bottle from the wine bar though if the casino bar service is too slow instead of dinner.

Happy this is my biggest problem to tackle right now.

Go for the two bottles then. Head start the next day if you don't finish the second bottle. Repeat as required. Cheers. 🍷

That's what I'm thinking since I will only have my elite drinks each day after I finish my carry on.

Heading to the room until sail away. Doubt I will get a nap in since drills will start soon but I may rest my eyes and see what happens.

No drills. You've done the required muster drill so you're done.

I meant the overhead announcements that come into the room. Hard to sleep through seven long blasts followed by one long blast on the ship's speaker 🙂

Asked about the welcome aboard sparkling wing at martini bar bartender had no idea what I was talking about. He asked another bartender and it's a no go. No welcome aboard bubbly for me today.

Somewhere I read that it is in Cafe Al Bacio.

Which is very fortunate, all things considered.

Didn't sleep but dozed a little. Announcements didn't start till about 415 so I got out of bed on my own at least.

Up top now.

Princess and Apex have left.

Still see Oydessy
