A pleasant demeanor of young and old alike.

Yes, tired of the older generation complaining about "those kids these days", meanwhile some of the older generation (especially with higher status) need to check their own entitlement onboard.

Here goes:

1) Make all ships non-smoking

2) Put the tablecloths back on the tables in the dining rooms and specialty restaurants.   The restaurants look cheep.

3) Put the bars back in the casinos.

I’d be all for the no smoking but they tried that before with 1 ship and it could never turn a profit. Smoking and gambling go hand and hand. It would be asking them to make their whole fleet unprofitable. I’m happy they have at least been trying to add non smoking sections to most of the ships casinos during their dry docks.

I live in California and Pechanga Casino is a non smoking casino.  It’s one of the largest casinos and they manage to make a profit.  I am not buying that smokers spend more money.  They drive the non smoking gamblers out of the casino. It just looks like smokers spend more money. If you go on NCL the non smoking casino on the ship is practically empty.

I’m just saying, the Paradise was non smoking for the first 5 years of her existence and didn’t turn a positive revenue in any of those years. That’s unheard of for a new build. As soon as they dropped the gimmick, she turned a positive revenue in the 6th year. I don’t think that’s a risk Carnival is willing to take, not while they are drowning in debt. They need every ship pumping as much revenue as possible and like you said, smokers spend more gambling.

That was also over 20 years ago.

Times have definitely changed but this isn’t an experiment that’s even in the realm of possibility right now. Why would they alienate a major percentage of their customer base when they are in so much debt. Smokers simply will not go on a cruise if they can’t smoke. I think all the cruise lines have done a good job in recent years of catering to non smokers by limiting the places that smokers can smoke to only a couple spots. But eliminating smoking all together? Fleet wide? Nah there’s no chance. Not on Carnival anyways.

In the past, even the near past, smokers were tolerated by non-smokers and so smoking was allowed. But that is very quickly changing. We've seen the number of smoking areas go way down from literally half of the ship to now just the casino and one or two small outdoor areas.

Even with that, there are a lot of people who refuse to go to Vegas or a mass market cruise line because of the smoking. At a certain point, Carnival will be alienating more people by allowing smoking than by banning it. The question is where is that inflection point.

I don't smoke or like smoking but don't think it will be any time soon when smoking is totally prohibited.  The area that may cause a shift is if the cruise lines see a decrease in the profits from the smoking section of the casino.  I have recently traveled abroad, and in other countries (many of where the crew live) smoking is still accepted as a social norm.  With that said, I would be happy if smoking was prohibited.

Oh good, I hope we get to the bottom of the smoking debate, once and for all.

In all seriousness, it reminds me that I want to see a cigar lounge of sorts. Even if it's a half-assed add-on to the outdoor bar near the smoking area. This should have some type of presence.

I'm firmly convinced Carnival ships will be the last places on Earth where indoor smoking is still permitted. When they finally ban it, they'll introduce the first open-air casino on their open decks.

Carnival tried that already, at least I believe on the Conquest class when it first came out.  If they were popular/successful you'd still see them on the ships.

Might be best for you to concentrate on having a good time on your cruise versus looking for character flaws in people. A higher cruise line status means nothing when it comes to someone's character...anyone acting obtuse has probably been that way their whole life. Therefore seeking to label someone just because they are at a certain cruising level is 100% ridiculous.

All around better IT.

A website that doesn't crash, have wrong info, etc.,etc. every other day.

A ton more functionality in the Hub App.

Put my Sign & Sail statement PDF in my Carnival account with the record of each cruise. It's a tiny file. Don't make me download it from the Hub app before getting off the boat, go to a kiosk, or have to email Carnival and wait 3-5 business days.

Paradise was profitable - just not the ROI Carnival was looking for. But then, the ship was way ahead of its time.

I like this idea of additional Hub App functionally and would like to see the ability to save picture, notes and etc. of certain events each day or you participate in while cruising for review after the cruise.  This would be like a memory photo books or cruise videos CCL sold in the past.

A mid-range non-alcoholic package. I don't drink a lot of alcohol, but I do like mocktails and my husband likes the nicer coffees. I'd absolutely buy into that.

Also, the ability to open up my door with the app or something like that. I love that when I stay at certain hotels.

Open door with app I would not like.  We like to unplug completely on a cruise.  Phone in the safe until we get back to home port

You don't have to use your phone to unlock the door if you don't want to...

It would be nice if they added a date range option on the booking engine so you can look for cruises on a specific day

yes!

I always used to use the calendar view option...but lost the link when my computer crashed.

Is that still a thing?

Extra pizza oven to reduce to line waiting for pizza

I would like them to make pizza that is actually good instead of that stuff they try passing off as pizza, but then more people would want them and the lines would be even longer.

I would love to be able to schedule my morning coffee order in the app. I liked the door-hanger breakfast menus from before because I could get it scheduled and go to bed without having to talk to someone. I know it is silly, but I would much rather use the app than have to make a phone call to order. Instead of morning cabin coffee, I get up and go to the Lido where I can get coffee and not have to talk with anyone. I tip on room service deliveries, I would love to tip for morning coffee. ❤️

Initially, I felt the same on our Jubilee B2B in Jan/Feb.  The lady who answered the phone at the room service number was so friendly and the order arrived in less than 15 minutes every morning.  I changed my mind after the first two days.  🙂

You muster station is already on your boarding pass, so just hand out S&S cards there, forcing everyone to go and avoiding the endless announcements to complete muster.

and activate them at that time too.  People would make sure to get their muster drill done asap if that was the case
