Back from eye doctor 👍. All seems on track, feels so much better than last week!

Brenda, so beautiful. I’m sorry about losing your friend.

Roy, I’m glad you are being closely followed, no surprises.  And I never tire of reminiscing about your exceptional journeys.  Thank you.

Pennie, I haven’t been to either Trinidad or Tobago, thanks for the photos. Stay safe and healthy!

I love the Helsinki Church in the Rock!  I’m a geologist, how could I not love it! 😜 Thanks to Tiny, Lenda and Sandi for sharing.

Jacqui, I hope you get a bit of warmth soon.

Vanessa, please rest, don’t overdo.  Thanks for updating us.

Paul, thanks for giving blood. I haven’t been a regular donor fir a while but I’m thinking I might be able to in my new environment.

Graham, I love sitting your car at the shore!  It’s such a “happy place” no matter what storms swirl here!  Thank you, you bring smiles.

Good afternoon.  It's been a busy day, but all the information for our taxes is now assembled and ready to start the work of inputting it into Turbo Tax.  We went to the Post Office and got our mailforwarding verified.  I had two forms to show both the physicals address and the PO Box number.  They would only accept one, and DH's driver's license.  The clerk scanned just about everything, and then we were good to go.  We had a confirmation email when we got home.

As soon as I finish here, I'm going to spray the ground clear in hopes of getting rid of the weeds, etc.  They are getting rather high and thick.  It will be nice to do something outside and physical instead of sitting at a computer.

Tony, thanks for the pictures of Helsinki and especially of the old Rotterdam.  That was the last ship we were on before the shutdown in 2020.  We wish they still more of the R class and some of the S class ships.

Maureen, I'm glad they got approval for Rehab for your DSIL, and I'm sorry about the complications.  I hope the eye doctor appointment went well.

Thanks for the pictures, Bruce.  That area is on the bucket list.  Please be careful when moving around the ship.

Roy, I hope your PSA numbers do not continue to rise.

Brenda, thanks for the lovely pictures.  Our condolences to your friend and her family on the loss of her son.

Vanessa, I'm glad the anesthetic worked quickly and has now worn off, but I'm sorry the pain is back.

Graham, I'm glad Pauline's retail therapy and time together helped brighten her friend's mood.  I hope her friend is getting some grief counseling after the loses of her loved ones.

Lenda

Thank you Lenda.

Their work offers counselling if she wants it.

Pauline has the skills to help her.

I have been to Helsinki Eurodam cruise in 2008. We did not get to the the rock church as some type of stabilization work was being done. Instead we had a tour of the home of Sibelius which included lunch.

My cardiology appointment today turned out to be with one of the PA's. She read all of both the cardiologist and the thoracic surgeon notes from the procedures I had last week, explaining all of them to make sure I understood. Basically confirming what I had understood before, the Mitral Valve had severe calcification (stenosis), the Aorta had some minor stenosis which is nothing to worry about, the heart beats well, no leakage except for a very small hole that was a birth defect shared by about 20% of the adult population. The doctors are going to consult further but open heart surgery is apparently not an option. The Dr's may try to get me into an experimental program wherein the mitral valve is replaced using a catheter through the groin.  My EKG has remained the same.

So for the moment it is wait and see until one or the other of the Doctors calls me.

@grapau27 that pastry or whatever it was on the dashboard seemed a bit incongrous to me almost to the point of a chuckle but not quite.  I think the time difference between us added some to the surprise I saw.

Pauline's best friend is in Orlando Florida now and bought the same Luxury fruit bread at Starbucks today.

The drive thru give you sachets of butter and jam and I took the photo after squeezing the jam on the bread and maybe I should have spread the jam on the toast first before taking the photo but I actually ate it the way it was because I was hungry.

One thing was odd, I thought. I'm prone to vasovagal syncope (translation: I faint easily) and I've found that taking HCTZ increases the likelihood of it about tenfold, so I skipped it this morning. When the technician took my blood pressure, I was surprised to learn that, even without HCTZ, it was in the range my doctor considers acceptable. But she considered it elevated and said it would have to be rechecked by someone else after 10 minutes, even though it was well below what they allow. I asked whether we could do the medical history while waiting, and she said no, that has to be last. (I would think it should be first, before they test hemoglobin, etc.) In the recheck it was the same as the first time.

My next appointment is during Passover. I'll have to bring my own cookies.

Jane, I hope you hear from the doctors soon, and you are approved for the experimental treatment.

I hope you hear from the doctor soon and they can do the procedure.  My friend had a similar surgery and it worked very well for him 👍

@richwmn  YAY on being able to go to Kangaroo Island, after all.  👏 👍

I have been reading but not posting as recently my good friend of many years lost her son.  All loss is difficult, but loss of a child seems particularly tragic.

Oh Brenda, I am so sorry to hear this.  So sad 😔. No one anticipates losing a child and it is always tragic.  Bless you for supporting your friend ♥️. My condolences to you, your friend and her family.

Humility is a good trait - Tim McGraw has a really good song "Humble and Kind."

One of my favorite Tim McGraw songs. 🙂

So…my twin “spends some time in the casino”.  As a result she gets “free” cruises.  She has been on me to join her in her cabin on Anthem of the Seas for seven days starting on Sunday.  Since my daughter is available to stay with her dad I finally said yes.  So the next few days will be busy since I haven’t totally unpacked from the 2/8 cruise!  Silly me.  But I will get it all done.

Good decision. 😉 Bon Voyage!

Just a quick check-in. I’m back home. My right leg is numb and feels like Gumby. I almost fell to the ground twice. Thank goodness for the rollator. The steroids will take a few days to work, so once the anesthetic wears off, I’ll be back to the same way for a few days. BFF is here and just made me coffee since it’s hard for me to get around. I appreciate all the good wishes and prayers.

Hope the procedure works and you have relief soon.

First I'd like to put aside some of our worries about Annie @marshhawk and Chuck @catmando.  I received an email message from her and she said a car ran into their AT&T box (which if it's like our neighborhood all the utilities are underground with "boxes" with wiring in them standing upright in certain areas along the street).  Annie says that no one in the neighborhood has internet or home phones.  Chuck's surgery was moved again, this time by the doctor.  She says they are spending their time walking in the park, cooking at home, and watching old movies on the VCR.  She also says she misses the Daily!  I suppose this means they can't work either since they need internet and good phone service for that.  I assured her we missed her too and were concerned about them both.  I hope they can get something fixed soon so they and the neighborhood can get back to normal.

I also heard from @marshhawklast evening and was happy she replied to my email.  She also said that some thieves came along after the utility box was hit and removed all the copper wiring (of course they'll sell it to a scrap dealer for $$), so she's not sure how long it will take before she's back online.  This also affects her work as she needs her computer, which isn't good at all!

Thank you both.
