What's Open on the Ship When Docked at CoCo Cay?

Recommended Posts

We are sailing Allure in May 2024 and have been to CoCo Cay numerous times.  We are Floridians, so a beach/pool day holds no interest to us.  We plan to stay on the ship that day and enjoy the onboard amenities.   I know many of the ship's crew will work on the island that day, which leads me to ask what will be open on board?  Windjammer?  Pool bar?  Park Cafe?  Solarium?  TYIA.

There may be limited bar and food service, but it will be available. The Windjammer and few others (El Loco Fresh, Park Cafe, Sorento's) should be open.  The Solarium is certainly open and a great time to avoid any crowds there.

Most venues operating hours should be listed in the app. Use a close in sailing with a CocoCay stop.

Solarium is open. Pool bar opens early if I recall but other bars not til 11ish, I think. El Loco did not open until 2 on our last cruise. Windjammer is open but has a smaller offering. It is nice to have it not so crowded! Casino as stated is open. We stay on the ship as well and enjoy the quieter atmosphere. There are activities onboard but not as many as on a sea day.

We have also been to cocoCay and Labadee multiple times- still enjoy getting off the ship as always something new-on CoCo Cay the beach club is great-  Enjoy your day on board- we no longer get off in PR if a stop on a ship as they typically arrive at 4 PM- we have been to PR multiple times.

I believe everything is open. Just some of the daily activities may not happen.

Not true. Usually half of the bars are closed (a lot of bartenders work on the bars at Coco Cay) and the stores are closed. Depending on the ship, some of the “free” restaurants are closed as well

Even if you don't plan to hit the beach at Coco Cay, I'd consider taking a noontime walk /having lunch on the island.  The food's different from what's served on the ship, and it makes a nice change.

You're right that some ship's crew will work on the island, but consider that typically two ships pull up to Coco Cay -- and each ship will send workers out to the island, so it's not like one ship is running two separate locations.

What'll be open?

- Yes to Windjammer and Soliarium. I'd guess not the Solarium Bar.

- SOME bars will be open, and since the Pool Bar is maybe the busiest on the ship, I'd guess it'll be open.

- I'd give the Park Cafe a 50-50 chance of being open, but you'll have no problem finding plenty of food.

We were on Wonder in Jan for a b2b and two stops at CC.  WJ is open.    No specialty restaurants are until dinner time. MDR only for breakfast (short time) and dinner.  El Loco Fresh from what I remember didn't open until about 3 pm.  Some bars are open but can't remember which ones.
