Star Legend.... no cruises after Oct 6th, 2025, while the others show cruises as far as April 2026

Recommended Posts

So, I noticed the Star Legend no longer has any booking options past Oct. 6th of 2025.  Looking at the other 2 yachts they show cruises till April of 2026.  Is Windstar selling the Legend?   Your thoughts?

Not likely at this point, with cruise bookings recovering to record levels.  But since Star Legend had to be repositioned from the mid-east with many itineraries cancelled, they may have decided to hold off on announcing its future itineraries until the world situation stabilizes.

i think selling is not on issue .  They've just invested millions in the triplets and their looking good and they need the capacity.

Silversea has recently done something similar with Silver Spirit, leading to similar questions about the future of the ship.  They finally announced that they are going to reposition it from the mideast trouble spots to Northern Europe, and need time to complete the details on the new itineraries.  That is probably what is happening with Star Legend.  And I'll bet that there is a lot of port congestion in the remaining 'safe' areas...

Agree.  We were booked for a trip with the Mid East included and Windstar cancelled due to issues in the area.  Found another sailing in April of 2025 instead doing the Canary Islands, Portugal, Morocco, and Spain!!  Amazing itinerary.

We have a charter booked on the Legend for August of 2027.  Not likely being sold if they are booking charters this far out.

Is it the July 27-August 5, 2027 Eclipse Tour cruise?

Great!  I booked it this week.  Sounds like a great experience!

We thought it was a better option than Egypt.  We have been on Windstar on several cruises and just love their cruise experience.

Totally agree on the options available. I like the idea of watching at sea.

This will be my first time on Windstar,  So long to wait!

Based on this company's advertisement, they promise 6m8s of totality, which means they are sailing pretty damn close to Libya based on the eclipse maps I looked at.  Seems like a risky proposition, so close to Libyan territorial waters.

I wonder if the discounts that repeat customers receive on Windstar cruises are applicable on this charter.

I looked at the map before I booked.  According to Space dot com, the TSE path will be 160 miles wide.  So midpoint will be, at the closest,  80 miles from, for instance, Tripoli.  And east of there, even further than 80 miles to TSE midpoint from the coast of Libya.

This will be the leader’s 91st trip to experience a Solar eclipse.
