Just been notified by TA, this cruise has been cancelled. Anyone else had this letter from Silversea? Noticed that all Silver Spirit sailings into 2025/26 have gone into "waitlist" status.

Seriously annoyed about this!

Maybe it’s going to be sold. After our recent experience onboard it might be sensible.

Yesterday we were notified (via our TA) that our November 11, 2025 Lisbon to Barbados sailing on the Spirit had been moved to November 25, 2025 with the exact same itinerary.  We didn't like the new departure date so opted for the 10% discount if we rebooked by the end of May 2024.

Hello, now on Silversea website, the cruise scheduled for the Silver Spirit on Nov 11 to Nov 24, 2025 is Lisbon to Bridgetown, then Nov 24, 2025 to Dec 1, 2025 it is Bridgetown to Bridgetown. Strange!

Now I’m getting worried. We’re on a b to b leaving Capetown on March 8th to Doha on April 9th. Just used points to book the airfare too.

Is it possible that they plan a dry dock during that period when cruises are waitlisted?  Perhaps they do not yet have a firm date for the dry dock.

Or perhaps period for waitlisted cruises is so long because they are going to stretch the ship again   🙂

I think the only thing SS is stretching is customers' patience.

Dear Esteemed Guest,

We hope this letter finds you well. Today, we are writing with important news regarding your 11 November 2025 voyage aboard Silver Spirit.

Due to unforeseen logistical and operational changes, we have had to readjust our sailing schedule for Silver Spirit in 2025. As such, your transoceanic voyage will now sail 13 nights from Lisbon, Portugal departing on 25 November 2025 and arriving in Bridgetown, Barbados on 8 December 2025. Please know the itinerary remains unchanged.

We apologize for this change to your expected travel plans and are grateful for your understanding. If you choose to stay booked on this voyage, you will receive a 10% saving on the full cruise fare and a shipboard credit of USD 200 per person to enjoy whilst onboard.

It is also understandable if you choose to cancel your voyage, and for this, we would like to offer the following for your consideration:

A. A saving of 10% should you choose to book a different 2024/2025/2026 sailing when booking before 31 May 2024. This voyage-to-voyage (V2V) offer is combinable with any public fare or live promotions.

-or-

B. A refund of the full cruise fare paid.

Please contact your travel professional to secure either option before 31 May 2024.

Interesting. Thank you.

I have a question: if I received this message today and had the relevant canceled booking, could I apply the 10% saving to a 2025 cruise I had already booked? Or is this only for new bookings?  If the latter, it seems to discriminate against people who are loyal to Silversea and book in advance.

In our case when they did the same to the Muse earlier this year it was to a new booking not an already booked cruise. But inconsistent behaviour by SS is probably to be expected.

As @drron29 mentioned it has to be a new booking.  But, if the price of what you have booked has not increased significantly, and if you aren't booked with a non refundable deposit, it may be worth it to cancel and rebook.  The $250 pp admin fee (for cancellation) can be applied to your new booking (with the 10% discount) so presumably you won't be out any money.  However, whether you are working with SS directly or a TA I would confirm with them that my advice is correct.

Maybe they're going to split it open and remove the added section?  Because from what I have read here this ship has always been a problem-child in the Silversea fleet...

It seems like we may have dodged a bullet with them altering our itinerary which then caused us to change to a sailing the Ray.

Of what benefit is a 10% discount on a future cruise given that prices have recently been significantly increased? The new cruise would be much more expensive than the cancelled one, even with the small 10% savings offered.

Our June 25, 2025 Croatia cruise on the Spirit was cancelled as well. Same offer- rebook for 10% discount. Nothing much left out there we are interested in for an amount we are willing to pay during June of 2025. Our time to travel is limited. Not a good introduction to SS for us.

Hi

We are Just of the Nova In February which we enjoyed but a couple of minor faults, and were looking forward to the Spirit Cruise which has just been cancelled.

We were door to door on the Nova , but looking at alternative cruise in late 2025/ 2026  which suit us the prices for door to door has shot through the roof  now looking alternative cruise lines.

Seems likely to me that they are squeezing in a private charter cruise LIS/LIS between the dates Nov11 & 25.

They did that to us several years back on a Caribbean cruise

Azamara is a specialist in Croatia cruises, doing several intensive itineraries every summer.  They don't have any in June 2025, but they do in May (3-10), July (12-22), plus Aug, Sept and Oct.
