Harmony OTS - Bringing wine onboard

I feel like I should know this but...

We will each be bringing ONE bottle of wine onboard.  Is it better to pack it in the luggage or bring it on in the carry one bag?

FAQ says carry on only. Only takes one idiot packing red wine in a suitcase where it gets broke and drips into every suitcase below it on the luggage pile.

I definitely smuggled lots of liquor in past but since they offered drink package now I get 5 free drinks it is no longer necessary.
