IUSteve Posted April 14 #1 Share Posted April 14 Does anyone have experience or photos of these balcony rooms at the front of the ship? They're wheelchair-accessible and on the deck map look larger than other deluxe balconies.
Rare 1025cruise Posted April 14 #2 Share Posted April 14 Generally, wheelchair accessible cabins are larger to accommodate a wheelchair.

Yes, your balcony will be wider than average, as your cabin itself is wider and more spacious.

Is it one of the Deck 9 or Deck 16 accessibles?

Deck 14 actually.14647, one of the two aft facing cabins there. Cabin will be virtually the same layout and spacing as the forward deck 9 cabin. Rare 1025cruise Posted April 15 #7 Share Posted April 15 Just to note, unless you are in need of an accessible cabin, please don't book it. There are plenty of people who can't cruise without it. Now, if you book a guarantee and get it assigned to you, that's a different matter.

Can you tell me if there was a button to open the door to the cabin automatically or did you have to use the handle to open it?

We are in 9102. Do you have any idea what the obstruction is. I wish Princess would post pics from every obstructed cabin. Also noticed that these accessible cabins are fully forward instead of the close to elevator accessible cabins on other classes. Really wonder how difficult it will be for my wife's wheelchair to get by all the cleaning carts down the long hall to the elevators?

Instead of blue tinted plexiglass under the hand rail, it is sheet steel. Very opaque.

The category of cabin you're in is the cheapest HC with balcony DF. There are a total of 6 of these, 4 on deck 9 and 2 on deck 16. The other categories, which are on various decks are closer to elevators. DD (8) DE (6) & DB (2). I would contact Princess or your TA and see if any of the others might be available for your sailing. septrack Posted September 2 #12 Share Posted September 2 Thank you for your comments. Yes I have checked and currently nothing else is available except for inside cabins. Will keep an eye out for cancellations.
