Combining Captain's Club discounts with Flash sale?

This has probably been asked before, but I couldn't find it.

If there is a 30% off flash sale on wifi can I use my Captain's Club discount on top of that?

It is one or the other, whichever is better, but not both in combination.  Anecdotally, we just used our CC discount to upgrade from classic to premium beverage and base to premium wifi on our upcoming Eclipse cruise.  The CC discount was significantly better in our case.

Or the other way to think about it is that the Captains Club discount means that you don’t really have to pay much attention to flash sale announcements

Actually you need to pay attention because  sometimes the flash sale prices are well below the CC discounts.  My CC discount for wife is 30% but on our last cruise I picked it up on a flash sale for 50% off making my CC discount basically worthless.

Back in the 60’s I was working at Dodge Main.  We got a “employee discount” on Chrysler products.  I went to a dealer and got a price on a Dodge Charger with a 426 Hemi.   After he gave me the price I said I am a Chrysler employee and get a discount.   He said what discount do you want to use?  The  15% customer discount that I gave you or the 15% employee discount.  I left and bought a 1966 Chevy Nova SS with 327, 365 HP Mickey Thompson enhanced engine.  The hemi’s and GTO’s were slugs compared to that car and the car cost less.  I wish I had that car today.  I also had a 63 Vette it was fun but had a lot of issues,  the Nova was my favorite.

Discounts are marketing tools to make you think you are getting a bargain on an inflated price that some may pay.

Department stores play this game by discounting off of the MSRP that was never the price of the item to begin with. However, nobody inflates the prices higher and discounts off of that price better than the cruise lines. It's all just a cancelation of a markup.
