Easy to do when you give all the rooms away.

Yeah, but they probably spend far more money in the casino than that room probably would have cost. They'd try to convince you otherwise, but gamblers often only remember their wins and not their losses.

I’m sure some do and some don’t. It’s a significant shift post-Covid that feels like they’re running a casino that’s on a cruise ship…where it used to feel like it was a cruise ship that had a casino.

2 cruise lines (built and run similarly) vs 9 cruise lines that are part of a parent that are very different, in the way they are run, in the way they sell and are priced, in the clientele they serve .

Sure there may be challenges. However, I think we are reading too much into this. It doesn't need to be all or nothing. It doesn't need to be an exact 1:1. It doesn't need to be all brands. No, "undesirable" Carnival cruisers aren't going to overrun Princess. Most lines have your general theme of base line, next level, next level, top, etc.

Just give something.

A charge will be made for smoking in a cabin. How often does that happen?

From John Heald today:

"Yesterday ( Sunday) I dared to take a day away from not answering questions and while I rested my weary mind and thighs someone posted a comment that is doing the rounds on one of the cruise Facebook pages and on Tit Tock.

The basis of this post reads:

“I have been on 30 cruises. I smoke on the balcony. I paid for the cruise. The steward always brings an ashtray with $50 tip.”

And so let me cut to the chase before I carry on. This chap, along with the lady who was also on Tit Tock showing how to drink water from the bottles in the cabin without breaking the seal have both been banned from cruising with us ever again."

We will see, I hope it DOES work out.  That said, there is a reason why nothing has happened for 10 years.  Seems much more likely we find out the answer is simply raise the bar(s) and/or add some persistency to it.

Perhaps nobody took the bull by the horns, or was "allowed" to !

I think the bull was nonresponsive……. Think I may have posted it here.  They havd broguht in someone (CHris Hanna I beleive, who was the loyalty guru for Sheraton I think) to revolutionize their loyalty program.  We were invited to something wher he talked.  He was VERY excited and it showed.  Many failed attempts later, the white flag went up.

Did anyone ask him if that steward was fired and told to pay his own way home?
