I guess I'll figure something out if it takes a MSC cabin card.

You could ask your Butler for a generic card, which is what we did.  She had no problem with it and got one for us right away.

They have their own kitchen and chef. Another reason a special GF meal is taking longer (has it ever been hot) that it is prepared to your specifics in a special portion of the MDR kitchen devoted to this and must be transported to the YC. Been told that one time the special elevator was not working and the assisstent waiters had to use the stairs to retrieve meals from MDR kitchen.

Tonight DW ordered a dish from the vegetarian menu, teriyaki tofu, besides her usual chicken breast. After 20 minutes our waiter came back to the table and explained that there would be a delay more than usual because the vegetarian dishes are prepared in the MDR kitchen, would we want to have the rest of our meal now and when they get the teriyaki dish they will serve it later?( funny how coincidental? )

ps it was even hot, imagine that, I expected it to be cold.

Here is 17 second clip of progress on new restrooms being constructed at Ocean House. Male, female, handicapped.

They should be done before World America gets there....maybe. 😧

36 second panning of Ocean House early morning before it is set up. Staff is kind enough to give us a ride up with  YC workers. The summer time is just too hot to stay very long, the breezes help, and we noticed from our balcony this afternoon on the lighthouse beach there were NO sunbathers on the beach. They were either in the water swimming , just standing neck deep, or under umbrellas.

Ah, the plot thickens!

Massive dredge arrived yesterday maybe to assist with the new access island. Now the 100 cabin Ocean Voyager is starting to make sense for the temporary housing of the crews for this project.

Wow!  Quite the expansion of the outdoor seating area...I like that it's covered and on a decking as opposed to tables set up in the grassy sand with umbrellas...it was a no-see'um haven for my ankles which were eaten alive by the end of lunch.

Thanks for the videos of Ocean Cay, going to be beautiful when it’s done.  Any news on the new Terminal and expected opening date?  A group of us are sailing Seaside in YC end of January and are hoping to experience the new facility.  Enjoy your cruise!

Cheers

We are in our mid 70's and trust me.  Those lay flat seats in first class will come in plenty handy.   Best idea the airlines ever came up with, aside from the Concord.  Wish I had gotten the opportunity to fly in one.  Imagine how much time that would take off of a flight from the US to Australia.

We came sooooo close to experiencing the Concorde. We went to the Oshkosh air show in 2000 and were slated to take a short ride on it. Back then, it came to the show. Unfortunately, that was the year of the accident and the BA Concorde did not go to the show.

The ship anchored off the Lighthouse, which the trolley driver described as a dredging ship arrived two weeks ago. Maybe the driver was confused and it is the housing ship for the dredgers crew?

Yes. In post #30  Been told by our YC porter that his boss the head of his stevedore company was just given a tour of the new MSC terminal. The hope is that MSC wants to open it this November (latest January).

This was later confirmed when we bumped into the charming Hotel Director aboard the Seascape, Mr Nensee, one evening while being escorted to Le Cabaret Rouge by our personal butler. It was a casual night, but we were dressed (me jacket and tie) more elegantly and stand out in a crowd when on a cruise ship nowadays. He asked us where we were heading and we said to catch a show in LCR. He said "allow me to help escort you as well." We chatted about the new terminal in Miami and he confirmed the hope and plan to try and open it early this November.

Love to discuss interlopers in the Yacht Club venues and was told that yesterday while at Ocean House there were more guests having lunch than expected. I wonder if they count the number of meals that are served ? Something didn't feel right to the staff there. No one is checking ? Just saying that as long as paying YC guests are accommodated .....If one does not know what is really going on, one should not be bothered.

The difference, in my view, between non-suite Pinnacles on RCCL and interlopers (friends and family residing outside the YC) is that on MSC the higher suites are taken care of in a Royal fashion and we in a top suite on RCCL were asked to wait because a non-suite Pinnacle took our dining reservation.

Inquiring minds just have to know -- did she do a one woman wet t-shirt contest as a result of her encounter with the pool?

Oh surely you jest?  There is no way I am walking around a ship with a badge with my name on it, even on a lanyard like a company badge.  I had to do that for too many years when I was working.

Now if they wanted to print our picture on our room key cards, I would be okay with that.  Just stick it in my pocket and pull it out upon request.  Would be an easy way for staff to quickly determine if the new face belonged or not.

And there should be some sort of "penalty" to discourage those that are caught doing this.  As long as there is no penalty for disobeying the rules, people will do it.

For the enquiring minds, no t-shirt, the woman was wearing a black dress.  For a brief moment I contemplated grabbing some towels and assisting the staff.  This idea was immediately discarded when I realized that DW would loudly and strongly veto my attempted act of chivalry.

This is for @Fissues.

This is the widening/dredging ship we all thought was already accomplished during the shut down of Ocean Cay in May. The workers will continue to dredge when there are no ships visiting. (This is what the trolley driver said. Listen for yourselves.)

Per CruiseMapper, the ship off the west cost of Ocean Cay is the Ocean Voyager, described as a small cruise ship; about 200 passengers and 90 crew.  It's been there for a while.  I wonder if it is housing construction personnel for the island.

Very interesting and astute observation.

I am pretty sure my DW would also see it as something other than an act of kindness or chivalry as well.

Here is a 23 second clip of our last night aboard the Seascape in the Yacht Club Top Sail Lounge with the YC Restaurant above. Playing this evening is a great duo "Little Big". If anyone has a chance to see this act it would be great to videotape the finale of their tribute to the song "Hotel California". I was not prepared and was so shocked at how good it was I kick myself for not getting a clip.

we are currently on our second week of our B2B in YC on seascape and let's just say that there's a number of "interesting" people on board with little to no regard for basic etiquette. I've seen more questionable behaviour in a few hours than I experienced all last week.

Is this inside or outside of the YC?

 Care to share some examples?
