On the Beyond now, as I understand the benefits for Ruby ,Sapphire +  etc. will remain in effect for ! year starting 8/1/24...freeplay and beverage packages  to continue ....

Also told from Blue Chip that an email will be out in a few days to clear up any confusion with the Beverage packages....

Stay tuned......lol

Thank you, but on another site, the Members are being told NO beverage packages, pre-paid gratuities (when included with offers) will be honored after August 1, even for bookings paid in full. Stand by to stand by.

Just received another email from celebrity apologizing for any confusion / stress the first email caused. I’m still confused as to when the new blue chip benefits start over.

Since the beverage package for sapphire and free play chips has been eliminated this may be the perfect time to quit drinking and gambling. My wife wil be happy.
I will take up knitting and reading books.

Looks like no drink package at any level.

Correct.  Just complimentary drinks while gambling in the casino is all I see.  I thought you received those regardless of Blue Chip membership or not.

Yes, anyone actively playing in the casino gets free drinks.

The other thought I had on your point is that you are automatically signed up for the Blue Chip Club when you play (perhaps the lone exception to that is if you don't hand your SeaPass card to the dealer when you sit down at a table).  So in that sense, everyone playing in the casino is a Blue Chip Club member.

How do you see what level you are at?  I logged in and did not see the Blue Chip levels.

I don't know how to check it.  However it is printed on your Xpress Pass when you complete the check-in process.  That's how we know.  But then again, we are always a lowly Pearl.  So no big surprise for us.

Maybe that's an unexpected reason why, they don't want their players going to bars for free drinks, they want them in the casino for free drinks

Right there with you Dave.  I may have even made Onyx once .. I think it was because I used slots to turn OBC into cash 🙂

You can take that logic a step further to explain the disappearance of the lounge chairs in the balconies…

They will put the lounge chairs in the shops so that everyone hangs out there.  Or in the casino 😁

I just made Onyx on the Beyond cruises, probably because of the lots of OBC I had on the Solstice cruises.  Lucky, I guess that I don't gamble enough real money to go any further, so I won't be disappointed in the benefits I'm losing.

I received my clarification follow up email last night at 7:14pm. Here is a screenshot of the entire email (tap or click on the image to make it bigger). I was impressed with the wording in the first paragraph.

Wow! Is this a clearer message or am I not understanding? Thought this was Bluechip so now it involves our Captains Club Elite status? So if we don’t book we lose our elite status and 5-7 happy hour?

Is anyone else not getting it or is it just me?

OK folks...please forgive my ignorance but I have been reading through this thread and also the email from Celebrity and am still confused. Maybe it's  because we are elderly and neither my spouse nor I gamble and thus are unfamiliar with Blue Chips. However we are, and have been for years, in Elite status.  Do these changes only apply to what goes on in the casino?  In other words, will we still get our three free drinks per day?

Correct, your Celebrity Captains club status and benefits are all staying.  Ie elite, 5-7 HH, bag laundry etc.   But if your Elite Status and also have a blue chip club status and book thru Blue chip club you will get the additional little perks, Booking thru BCC is only on the offers sent to you by BCC

No captains club is separate and has no bearing to blue chip level.

The higher the CC status will only allow you to

Book the next cruise further out.

Yes mind you we just got off the eclipse last week and while playing a table game the guy next to me ordered a Stella the server asked for his sea pass card and when he brought him his Stella he told him it would be $1.00 more as he only had the classic package, really surprised me they would be so stingy.
