Was Hola worth the extra fees?

Absolutely.  Last Fall it was $17 ayce.  Never busy.  Waiters help with choices as menu huge.  Heard price might have gone up.  A McD lunch is $15 now days.

Where is "a table by station"?  One of my disappointments in YC Trip #2 was that they no longer delivered pizza to the pool deck.   For YC Trip #3, if I can't get it by the pool deck...I'll have it delivered to the room and take it to the pool myself....unless this "table by the station" is more convenient.

Pizza Station in buffet.  They have bar height tables right there.  DW would get something from buffet and I'd get pizza.

The whole YC pizza delivery outside room is confusing how it currently works but we've just had it delivered to room on numerous trips.  I have seen others do to room and then bring by pool.

Agree, couldn’t think of name when I was posting, I also feel it is a venue that takes people a few days to discover, always seems to have great entertainment, we also frequent it during the day for a quiet place to read.

the YC breakfast and lunch pool buffet is so good i almost never went to the restaurant for those meals. it's great to be eating out on the deck and the service is excellent.

Yeah, I third that, fourth that.... Whatever, I agree!!! The Sky Lounge is amazing. We sat in there as we pulled into Port Canaveral, since it was raining. Perfect view of the transit, and we were dry!

Another day, we played games in the lounge, quietly. Other than the buffet, we couldn't find bigger, indoor tables.

The late night buffet option is great. After picking up the kids from the kids club we loved doing the late night buffet. I enjoyed having some pizza and beer before going to bed. The small buffet by the pool is also great to have. I thought i would not like that there was no included food options in the promenade area like RC has but the buffet is easily accessible so no biggie.

I liked that I was able to get an aft cabin at the same price as a regular balcony. Also, the ship is beautiful. Loved the party atmosphere in the concourse and up top at the back. Shows were good especially sitting in the front row. Pizza was good but unfortunately got destroyed much of the time because it wasn’t always cut properly and all the ingredients wouldn’t pull off with the slices. They really should fix this.

I didn’t try specialties but I am surprised to hear Hola was an extra cost, on top of the specialty dining packages?!

No no. Hola! is just a la carte pricing. Nothing to do with the specialty dining packages. I think if you buy the specialty dining packages now, Hola! is included as one of the meals and I would assume that's the all-you-can-eat option? But a la carte prices are super cheap! Again, I have eaten there many times for right around $7.

Ok. Coz I heard teppanyaki is an extra $10 on dining packages and butcher’s cut is a limited menu if you don’t want to pay charges…so I figured there was some typical MSC caveat to hola

definitely makes me wonder about buying the 3 pack dining, or at least the best way to use them. Might as well just pay for hola a la carte and use the other 3 for other places…

Well you can't do that anymore. If you buy the three-meal specialty dining package, they dictate which three restaurants you can eat at and you can only eat at each one one time. I don't bother with the packages on MSC since they switched to that. I get a free specialty dinner as Diamond and I always use that one at Butcher's Cut. Then my husband and I go to Hola! and Kaito Sushi as often as we feel like and just pay a la carte (usually with OBC), because both have reasonable prices. I can eat for under $10 at both. We did the Teppanyaki one time and it was a completely INSANE amount of food. I do not need to do that one again.

This SUXXXX but on the upshot the 2 pack covers two of my restaurants. The 3rd restaurant, kaito, anyone know if that is the same as teppanyaki (with the up charge of course) or is it SUSHI KAITO only?

They have two "Kaito" restaurants on the Meraviglia. Kaito Teppanyaki is the enclosed area with the Teppanyaki grill stations. The seating outside the enclosed restaurant, overlooking the promenade, is Kaito Sushi and it is a la carte, has a pretty extensive menu, and is very cheap. Kaito Sushi is not covered in any of the dining packages, I don't think.

Ughhhhh so much information and no real answers lol, how do you like MSC so much. NCL was so much easier 😂 to complicate things I am sailing the Virtuosa, see my new post in the main LOL.

The Virtuosa is pretty similar to the Meraviglia, so it shouldn't be much of an adjustment for you. I promise you will get the hang of things!

Speaking of the Sky Lounge, there is (or maybe, "was") a small cigar lounge adjacent to the Sky Lounge.  Entrance is sort of hidden so it was usually pretty empty.  DW enjoyed this area.  Best part was there were a couple of ships officers, from the hotel side, the also enjoyed this area.  Had some pleasant and interesting conversations.

Besides being a large amount of food, was Teppanyaki good?

Yes, the food was definitely delicious. I just wouldn't pay a $10 upcharge over the specialty dining credit to waste 4/5 of the food they give me again.

I looked at the menu for Hola and Kaito sushi and there is no way I'd get out of either one for under $20.  Especially Kaito sushi ..  I plan to eat at least once at both of those on Seascape in September and will see how much over the $10 or $20 I go.

Ha! Well, in that case you are better off doing the all-you-can-eat option at Hola!, which I believe was around $18. I can't eat much in one sitting, so at Kaito, one roll and some noodles is more than enough for me.

In addition to what everyone has posted, I loved the promenade dance parties each night! I even made my sons get out there too. The dancers would spread out after the last show and would break a dance down into short moves, then add on another, etc like free dance lessons. We had so much fun!

Then our "kids" (26, 25, 18) would go off for the rest of the night and DW and I would head to the Casino till 2-3am each night/morning!

Sailing her again in April, same itinerary  that you are out of NYC. Looking fwd to seeing Ocean Cay post-renovation. We were the last ship before they shut it down for the reno.

Waking up from a great night’s sleep, opening your balcony door and seeing the beautiful blue ocean and hearing it roar as the Mera cuts through.  This was my morning today😀

I am insanely jealous! Did just make final payment on my October Meraviglia cruise, so under 90 days to go!
