Payment made with RCI CC Points not showing up...

DW and I both signed up for RCI Visa credit card on our last cruise.  Immediately paid deposit on future cruise with each and fulfilled the rest of the obligations within the first 90 days in order to acquire 30K points each.  Used one card's points for $300 fare reduction on our next cruise, and $300 onboard credit from the other card a month ago.  Final payment day is approaching so went to pay balance today, and reduction payment has not yet been applied!!!  Excuse me???  I manually subtracted it out of balance and paid actual, but now my fear is that final payment day will come and they will still see a $300 unpaid balance and cancel my cruise.  I did call customer care about this before we applied the credit, and "Lucy" in Mumbai assured me there would be no issues....My confidence level is not high.  This will only be our second RCI, so new at this way of doing business.  Is this normal and OK??  Really not a fan of off-shore based customer care.

I would follow up a few days prior to the final payment date, if it still shows a balance via Royal Caribbean then contact BOA who handles the RCI Visa cards to clear it up.  If all else fails just pay it off and save the points for a future cruise as they don't expire immediately.

BOA has already taken the points, so it appears to me that the issue is on the RCI side of the house.  Not sure where to go and see my onboard credit balance either....again credits taken, but not seeing the purchased item.  Frustrating

Do you have the printed receipts for those transactions? You should be able to to your Visa account rewards page and verify that the points were actually deducted from there.

Yes, both transactions show up at BOA, but nothing on RCI side.  Just got off the phone with RCI...again...and same story,  Credits will be applied before final payment date...  We'll see.  I set up a calendar reminder to double check the day before its due.  Of course the remedy they gave me is to call back then, but honestly my faith in their customer support is nil.

I would suggest printing out both receipts and have them ready to send to RCL if the credits don’t show up before FPD.

We have had the same problems in the past, and the documentation helps.

Your critic of Royals customer service is............. spot on. Royals speed of resolutions is a little slow, however it almost always works out.

I have had an issue where my OBC did not show up, until I had done the check in, about an hour later while walking around ship, my account dinged and there was my OBC, just as the Customer Care folks told me it would be. I did have physical copies of my CC showing they were taken with me to take to Guest Services IF they did not show up. Something another guest here on CC told me to do as a back up plan.

The day before is cutting it to close. Maybe at least 3. I know many people make final payment a couple of days before the due date just in case.

We have done the same and after a few inquiries with headquarters all was well...give it time...and stay on them.  You may not see it on your end, but they do.  We've applied points for onboard credit too....no worries.   Several minutes later.....Oops I see it was resolved already!
