We fly to LA tomorrow and board Crystal Serenity on Tuesday. Although Keith's & Anne Marie's adventure concludes a few hours before we board, I hope to continue with our observations (and daily Reflections and menu posts) as we cruise toward NYC. 18 days with only 6 scheduled port stops; we love those relaxing days at sea. Stay tuned...

Looking forward to following your cruise. Our last Crystal cruise was through the Panama Canal October 2019. We board in NYC September 14. Enjoy.

Yay! So glad to be able to picture the two of you, onboard a cruise I would’ve loved taking.

Bon voyage and thank you for this thread.

Also looking forward to joining in NYC on 14 September 😊 Does anyone know, will Rick Spath, Paolo, Leo still be aboard?

Yes for sure for CD Rick and Rest Mgr Paolo. I am almost certain Paolo is but not 100%.

Oops.

Let me try again.

Yes for sure for CD Rick and Rest. Manager Leo.

I am almost certain that Paolo is on when you are on board but not 100%.

Lovely sunny Southern California weather today. We hiked up the hills to the Korean friendship bell, a gift from South Korea to the USA in honor of the bicentennial in 1976. The view of the Pacific Ocean and the harbor are impressive from the park. We took the seaside walk by the beach on the way back. A huge Maersk container ship was docked along the way. Today, one of RCCL’s Goliath-of-the-Seas was in port. Tomorrow it will only be Serenity at the passenger terminal.

The Maersk container ship is on exhibit in the harbor  thru Wednesday…heralding its state of the art technology and its 16 k container capacity. Of course it dwarfs RCCL’s Navigator of the Seas which is about to sail on a four night voyage. Lots of interesting sights in this harbor.

Looking forward to boarding tomorrow.
