Andy_P Posted August 30 #1 Share Posted August 30 (edited) MSC will, and we all know about Royal Caribbean and Silversea, but are there others outside the "Royal Family"? Edited August 30 by Andy_P

Markanddonna Posted August 30 #4 Share Posted August 30 I managed to match to MSC Diamond status from NCL about 4 years ago but they raised the bar since then. I walked onto my first MSC cruise with Diamond status with never having been on their ships. Their loyal passengers complained, and they changed this generous match.

How would the other passengers know that you had a status match? 🤷♂️ Happy cruising 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌅

For example with Celebrity, they only accept Elite, Elite Plus, and Zenith tiers into their Virgin Voyagers Sailing Club for the match program, and I'm not sure what that provides with them. The membership availability also is for an undefined limited time. And there also are benefit restrictions and earned points limitations with free casino sailings, certain booked fares, and other conditions. So it seems like there are limitations regarding reciprocity. Edited August 30 by leaveitallbehind

Probably could be said about first time cruisers with any cruise line IMO. Edited August 30 by leaveitallbehind

Most status matches don't go from zero to Diamond. I agree that it is unfair to loyal customers to have someone match to the highest status from another cruise line. At the time, MSC was trying to get into the American market.

Relative to RCI and P's, I just get a kick out of those who do wear them just about anywhere, including on their bathing suits in the Solarium. As they are identified to the crew (which is all that really matters) with all associated benefits by their SeaPass cards, the only reason to do so is to impress us mere mortals.....LOL
