CBD doesn't have THC in it.

THC does not occur in CBD. It is a molecule, like NaCL or H2O.

Products which contain CBD may have also THC in them which makes them illegal.

I get what you're saying, but as I understand it if they are extracting CBD from a plant that has THC both compounds are extracted together and then they have to remove the THC, if they want to sell CBD that is in compliance with federal law.

Or extract the CBD from hemp and they won’t have to remove anything.

Of course, but since there are manufacturers that don't and it would be very time consuming to check everything being brought on board it's far easier to just ban it.

Hemp and marijuana are the same species.

Hemp and marijuana are largely the exact same plant.

Cannabis sativa sativa and Cannabis sativa indica are used for "marijuana".

Cannabis sativa sativa is generally used for hemp (although indica is sometimes used).

...and there are arguments among botanists as to whether they are actually different subspecies, and not the exact same.

See also: kohlrabi, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, kale, Brussels sprouts, collard greens, Savoy cabbage, and gai lan

Hmmm... Show up with a surge protector power strip, banned for life?

20oz bottle of coke = banned for life?

Wireless router = banned for life?

Maybe just a couple of years for those.  I think you got my drift.

For sure .. you think people who bring on banned items you don't like should get a lifetime ban, and people who bring on banned items you don't think are a big deal shouldn't.

Standard moral relativism.

Only if they have a casino comped cabin. I am not sure if we have gotten off on enough tangents.

Actually, if you are using a power strip or iron or similar items during the non-cruise portion of your vacation, it’s permissible to hand them over when you board in a bag with your name and stateroom explaining they are contraband used during your land vacation and that they be kept until you disembark. No shame, no pain and certainly no reason for a ban. People on this thread are too dramatic.
