We tried and it didn't work. It is technically denied.

No free access, you my use the workstation with your booked plan.

You can share the wi-fi package, but only one person can use it at a time.

I just looked if I could hotspot to my husbands phone and on the settings page it shows as 'No Service'

No, you definitely can't hotspot.

Most (all?) phones switch off Wi-Fi when you switch hotspot on and make the mobile/cell phone signal available over Wi-Fi.  Great if you're sharing an eSIM, which I've done, but you need a land-based signal for this to work.

 

However, my Dell/Windows 11 laptop can simultaneously use WiFi and make it available as a hotspot.

We were on the world cruise on the Onward and internet was some of the best we have ever had on a cruise ship.  We could actually stream videos, something we have never been able to do onboard.

Onward in September was the same, but I did pay the $7.95 a day or whatever it was to upgrade. The standard package I've always found to buffer a lot, even with just music rather than video.

I believe we had one account (which happened to be mine) on the upgrade and the second was regular.  When we went around Africa they upgraded everyone to the upgraded version.  With only around 150 passengers the system could easily handle it.

Assuming you have a wifi package are you able to connect third party devices to the internet / TV e.g. a Firestick or gaming console?
