Cruisinita Posted Wednesday at 05:59 PM #34 Share Posted Wednesday at 05:59 PM We are booked on the cruise after yours. Last cruise for us was in 2019, this will be our 22nd. Couple of comments - Looked at the MDR menus on the app and was disappointed to find no filet on the menu at least once. On past cruises the option was always there on formal nights, now 'chic'. We've been on Royal, Carnival, Celebrity, Norwegian and other lines. When we tried to make a reservation for the specialty restaurants there were no times available on most nights. We did get one at 8:30. Hopefully when we get on board they will offer some times. What do you think of the quality of the MDR food if you've eaten there? Also, found there is only one main show at 9:00PM each evening. Our anytime dining res is at 8 in the MDR but it does not allow time change right now for anytime dining that I can see. We'd either have to eat at 7:00 or very late to see the show and not rush. On past cruises there were always two main shows each night so you could either catch the early or late show. This is very disappointing. Unless you can tell me something different we may be eating in the OVC if we want to see the show. Thanks!
helen haywood Posted Wednesday at 06:20 PM #35 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:20 PM I’m not sure where you are looking…but if you check the Celebrity app for the current Eclipse sailing, you will see shows each night at 7 and 9 as usual. It’s possible the first night might be different. But every night will have the show at both times.

Rare cruisestitch Posted Wednesday at 06:42 PM Author #37 Share Posted Wednesday at 06:42 PM they make it difficult to book specialty restaurants ahead of the cruise. 🥲There will be plenty of people stationed around the dining venues who will be happy to make specialty dining reservations for you.

H2O_traveler Posted Wednesday at 10:43 PM #40 Share Posted Wednesday at 10:43 PM Hope you are having a fabulous cruise!!! Is the 16th floor sundeck for retreat guests only? If not, have any of the crew heard about when the next refurbishment of the ship is scheduled for and if that will be part of it? We are looking at booking a cruise for 2026 and are trying to decide if it is worth booking a suite or not. Thank you for taking questions. Rare cruisestitch Posted Wednesday at 11:28 PM Author #41 Share Posted Wednesday at 11:28 PM I believe that the next dry dock is just after the transatlantic this spring. I have no idea if they will be installing a retreat sundeck at that time.
Cruisinita Posted 20 hours ago #42 Share Posted 20 hours ago Hope you are really enjoying your cruise. One more question - on 'chic' nights, do people really dress up? Thanks!

back-at-it Posted 18 hours ago #44 Share Posted 18 hours ago Can you take a pic of the common drink menu? I would like to see what a normal drink cost.
39august Posted 17 hours ago #45 Share Posted 17 hours ago Drink menus at each bar, including the Martini Bar, simply list the specialty drinks at that bar. All regular mixed drinks can be covered in the classic alcohol package. In other words, $10 or less. Actually, I don't think there is a menu of "common" drinks. There are wine menus at some bars. clskinsfan Posted 17 hours ago #46 Share Posted 17 hours ago Love Eclipse. We did a 10 nighter in Alaska on her. One of my favorite ships and cruises I have ever been on. Will be on Silhouette next November for an ABC. Cant wait.

Cruisinita Posted 16 hours ago #48 Share Posted 16 hours ago Thanks. Just have to decide whether DH wants to bring a jacket or not. We'd both like to bring less - the days of lugging gowns and suits are over for us. 🙂
Trainer Posted 9 hours ago #49 Share Posted 9 hours ago Hubby doesn’t need jacket. Long sleeved shirt and chinos are enough. Tie optional.
Rare cruisestitch Posted 7 hours ago Author #50 Share Posted 7 hours ago (edited) Right—jacket not required. That said, most men ( in the dining room) were wearing a jacket last night. Were they glamorous and sophisticated? Many were, I suppose. on the other hand, men in the buffet were decidedly more casual.
