cmat1122 Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM #1 Share Posted Thursday at 07:36 PM Do you prefer East, West or Southern Caribbean in the winter months? I'm thinking Princess or Celebrity (no party ships) maybe 10 days. Out of Fl. Ideas please. Thankyou
Aquahound Posted Thursday at 08:12 PM #2 Share Posted Thursday at 08:12 PM Southern. Definitely Southern. I love the ABC islands, especially Bonaire.
Chow73 Posted Thursday at 08:46 PM #3 Share Posted Thursday at 08:46 PM Southern gets my vote. Love St. Lucia.
Airbear232 Posted Thursday at 10:39 PM #4 Share Posted Thursday at 10:39 PM Southern! Warmer, less visited by ships. Better experience.
Rare John Bull Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM #5 Share Posted yesterday at 12:11 AM Southern or under-rated Eastern JB 🙂
KreinKrunker Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM #6 Share Posted yesterday at 01:11 AM Southern. Usually a little longer, and more sea days.
Rare SRQbeachgirl Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM #7 Share Posted yesterday at 01:26 AM It depends on what you want to do. If you want to visit Mayan ruins, do the Western in the winter since the summer is surface-of-the-sun hot and you will be devoured by mosquitos. Many Eastern routes stop in the Bahamas and the water can feel, not cold, but chillier in wintertime than it would be in the summer. So if you want to snorkel that's something to consider. That said, for 10 days I'd go Southern in a heartbeat, especially on a smaller ship that can get into some of the less-visited ports.
SelectSys Posted yesterday at 01:49 AM #8 Share Posted yesterday at 01:49 AM My rank ordering - southern, eastern, western.
Gunner 66 Posted 15 hours ago #9 Share Posted 15 hours ago Interesting question. I have been pretty much to all Western and Eastern ports. Not Southern. Someone mentioned Southern has less party boats. Considering Carnival to the Southern Islands. Is this still a PARTY cruise???
George C Posted 13 hours ago #10 Share Posted 13 hours ago I like them all but give a edge to eastern because of St Thomas and St Maarten.
leaveitallbehind Posted 12 hours ago #11 Share Posted 12 hours ago (edited) Southern. The A-B-C's are among our favorites, along with Barbados. Eastern would be next if you are including St. Lucia and Antigua in that grouping, as some itineraries do. St. Kitts has some nice beaches. The only real interest in the Western for us is Roatan, and Cozumel for the back side. Don't mind Grand Cayman, but really dislike that it is a tender port.
