Half a pint of draught beer

We were on Queen Anne last month. One day we had lunch in the Golden Lion. I noticed that they had one of my favourite beers available on draught so I asked for half a pint. I was told that a half would be the same price as a pint! This left me with the choice of either buying more than I wanted or paying more for what I actully wanted. I bought the pint but it begs the question is Cunard more interested in profit than the comfort of their guests (I find a pint a bit much at lunch). Has anyone else had this on any of the other ships?

How bizarre, I've never heard of that before but I don't think we tried to order a half pint of anything on our recent trip.

Very unusual request? Half a pint of beer ?

How would the beverage billing even handle that?

I don't recall seeing 1/2 pints being available on the bar menu - were they when you ordered? I don't think it's a sign of anything untoward and nefarious, just how they have to ring the drink through the system - i.e. they can't process a 1/2 pint if it's not advertised and available to sell.

The Golden Lion is supposed to be a traditional British pub, there's nothing unusual about ordering a half pint of draught beer or cider.

It’s as simple as ‘they don’t sell half pints’.

They don’t on Queen Anne’s as 2 of the 3 beers are from a can (despite it being advertised)

How bizarre — fwiw, we had no trouble getting half pints in the Golden Lion on QM2 this August.
