8/16/08, one night pre cruise

San Juan Water and Beach Club

$117 plus tax

Priceline

Not our first choice but it looks nice enough and the staff seems very accommodating (I asked for a rollaway for our daughter or a room with 2 beds and they replied immediately saying it would be no problem).

I have never tried bidding for a hotel before, and have so many questions. I have been reading this thread and am very encouraged by the help many posters find here.

We will need a rooms for April 25 2009, what should I expect to pay for a 3* or above? This is at the end of peak.

I will be sailing out of the Pan American Cruise Terminal, so will this affect which hotels I would want to try to get.

I am such a rookie at this, but I am pleased to lock this rate in. Now I can start relaxing and getting ready for this cruise. I have a rental car, so we plan to explore the island, along with Old San Juan.

Lois, I wouldn't give up yet. The Sheraton OSJ is a 3 star.

In Jan, we got the Sheraton for $100 plus taxes along with several others. I think there will be availability closer to the date.

Please remember to include whether you used Priceline or Hotwire and the hotel's ranking (3 star, 3.5, resort, etc.). That information makes it much more valuable for others to be able to use. Thanks! :)

Thanks for posting this:) I couldn't agree more!

PL or HW....stars and zones too.

My bid of $147 per room for 4 rooms was just accepted! Woo-hoo! I got the resort that I wanted!

Priceline

Bid Accepted $147 per room for 4 rooms

2 nights pre-cruise 6/19/09-6/21/09

Started bidding about 4 days ago at $110 per room then $120, then $125 with an option of bidding again with increase of $22 and bid was accepted.

With taxes & service fees total was $1392.48. I had reserved 2 rooms on line thru Marriott for the same time & my total was almost $1500 - we were going to share 4 adults to a room... this way we all get our own rooms and I saved an additional $108! So we indeed got it for less than 1/2 of what the resort wanted for 4 rooms booked thru them.

Now if it would just hurry up and get time to go!
