I love the new pages that they have for Alaska next year on scrapyourtrip but I think it's bad luck to buy b4 we go.. nuts, I know but......I'm only a year behind. Has anyone been to one of those CKU weekend crops.. big one here in August with registration beginning May 1... I'm kind of a beginner, not sure if its worth it? hawkette64 Posted April 20, 2007 #52 Share Posted April 20, 2007 KVR....really loved your layouts!! Thanks for taking the time to post them. How do you do the text that appears to be printed right on the paper, is that what you did?
AmberMarie Posted April 21, 2007 #53 Share Posted April 21, 2007 When I first became scrapbook obsessed, I scrapped my cruise I went on last September. It was actually a 40 page scrapbook, but here are most of the layouts I did: http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/album_display.asp?album_id=61294 You can actually see them larger, here, just go to the end of the album. The first scrap page is the last image on page 4, and then it goes backwards from there. http://scrapjazz.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=500&ppuser=32762

I know that I have seen a few of them posted before - I have admired the formal nights layout for quite a while! Our first cruise happened before I knew anything about scrapbooking - I actually made a layout from the cruise a few weeks ago for our Vacation Scrapbook. Now that I am slightly experienced with scrapping, I am really looking forward to our June Alaska cruise! I have so many photos planned, I feel like it will take a year to scrap them all! :D
KVR Posted May 2, 2007 #55 Share Posted May 2, 2007 KVR....really loved your layouts!! Thanks for taking the time to post them. How do you do the text that appears to be printed right on the paper, is that what you did? Sorry, I didn't answer earlier. We were on our cruise. :) I bought several of the scrap booking letters and just placed them on the page. I also have a label printer that will print out anything you type. Got it at Wal-Mart for $17.00. I also have two computer programs that I bought at Walmart that let you type words on the screen and then they print out with the paper. The only problem is you can only use 8 x 10 photo paper in my printer. Can't use the 12 x 12 scrap booking papers.

athena73 Posted August 13, 2007 #61 Share Posted August 13, 2007 I just found this thread and I have to say, I love it! As an avid scrapbooker, I love hearing ideas. One thing I did was collect all the flyers that were thrust into my hands in Ensenada, Mexico. I went to see the blowhole and at the Mexican market there, they give you a tree's worth of paper advertising jewelry, drinks and pharmaceuticals. I took the flyers and randomly glued them to a 12 x 12 card stock page and am using that as a background for pictures of the blowhole. Its a great way to have the memories of the blowhole and the market.

I tend to use a lot of embellishments like ribbon and decorative tape but not on every page... I am doing heritage album for my son for Christmas.. could not get done for birthday this week.. and did an accordion album for his buddy for birthday that he loved.. but that small paper was a PITA

I've been scrapbooking for seven years and am currently on the Design Team for a local store. My style is fairly simple/structured - lots of clean lines. I'm currently working on a Christmas gift for my mom and a high school album I've been hired to do. If you'd like to see layouts OTHER than cruise layouts, here are some from my family book. http://www.flickr.com/photos/twinmom7/sets/72157594295327777///
