bigbreeze Posted September 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Any ideas for a fun door sign for our cabin? Do they allow this? I'd like to but something nice about my girlfriend...I love Kelly! but would rather do something that's more clever and maybe not so personal with her name. Hmmmm
arizonaperson Posted September 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 16, 2007 Yes, Princess allows door signs, I did on my last cruise. I am bringing a cactus to put on the door for my cruise in 2 weeks. I live in AZ so I thought the cactus is appropriate. Go to the party store or a Michaels/Jo Ann's craft store to get ideas of what you want to do for your door. Make it fun.
shoequeen1001 Posted September 17, 2007 #3 Share Posted September 17, 2007  too funny!! I found this picture of the princesses and I am putting it on a door sign with the caption : HAHA made you look!

shoequeen1001 Posted September 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted September 18, 2007 how about a picture of a dozen roses and a box of chocolates? Better yet decorate the room - they have awesome packages available for the stateroom.
calikoala Posted September 20, 2007 #7 Share Posted September 20, 2007 are the doors magnetic so you can jus slap up a magnetic graphic or do items have to be taped? Does carnival allow it?
bigbreeze Posted September 20, 2007 Author #8 Share Posted September 20, 2007 are the doors magnetic so you can jus slap up a magnetic graphic or do items have to be taped? Does carnival allow it? Usually they are magnetic so magnets will work. They can be taped too. When you see door signs, they're usually fun to look at! I've seen them on every cruise I've been on...Disney, Princess, Carnival, Holland America and Royal Caribbean.
madge57 Posted September 20, 2007 #9 Share Posted September 20, 2007 Actually they are metal so your magnets will stick!!:)

JimVrhovac Posted September 24, 2007 #11 Share Posted September 24, 2007 Get some of the putty and put in all four corners. Does not damage the finish like tape and does not leave a residue even when up for 14 days. Ruth & Jim
cruisegirl1 Posted September 28, 2007 #12 Share Posted September 28, 2007 We have a door sign on most cruises and have had everything from shiny (flat) palm tree or tropical fish to a “Congrats Graduate” for our son’s grad cruise. For our 28th anniversary we picked up a “just married “sign at the party shop and wrote “28 years ago today” on it. We had a small group last year and bought some “the party starts here” banners for each door. Just run though the isles of your local party store for great ideas. sabhoy Posted October 6, 2007 #13 Share Posted October 6, 2007 I've found some cute signs at the dollar store. Since I had booked my cruise early, I was able to find some tropical themed things (including hats and leis) for our decorations. ----- Navigatior of the Seas 5/8/06 Carnival Inspiration 11/06 Carnival Liberty 10/13/
kiberkid Posted October 7, 2007 #14 Share Posted October 7, 2007 I have made up signs for our door with our Flag on it. Ours has the Canadian flag on it & my parents has the Danish flag. I also have all the names we go by.. ie 1st Names...Grampa & Grandma, Mom & Dad... etc. It is kinda neat to see it on the doors & most people stop & read it. My parents go by the Danish "Grandma & Grampa" which is "Mormor & Morfar" & "Oldemor & Oldefar" which is the terms for Great Grandparents.....so we get asked what it all means. It is a fun way to meet your neighbors. When our BIL & SIL cruised with us.. I put "future Grandparents" on their sign....we had them concerned as none of their children we even in relationships at that time & they were worried that we knew something they didn't!! Reenwad Posted October 16, 2007 #15 Share Posted October 16, 2007 I have taken those cheesy magnetic letters and leave notes for people as they walk by, but you should read some of the notes that have been left for us by those same people!
mgm3430 Posted October 19, 2007 #16 Share Posted October 19, 2007 I found some cute "Fiesta" signs in the party section at Wal-Mart for our mexico cruise in dec. We have 4 rooms booked and each room has a sign. Gwyn:D
awesomemamma Posted October 21, 2007 #17 Share Posted October 21, 2007 I am going to take some cute snowmen (the magnetic kind for the fridge, where you can change the clothes) and use those for my Christmas cruise!
milehicruiser Posted October 26, 2007 #18 Share Posted October 26, 2007 I will be decorating our door with Colorado Rockies stuff to show our support. Since we leave on day 4 of the World Series, I'm hoping they will turn things around from the first 2 games! But regardless, at the very least, they will still be the National League Champs!! GO ROCKIES!!
kescott98 Posted December 6, 2007 #19 Share Posted December 6, 2007 On our door, we're putting up something snowflakes or something like that.

Mango Mike Posted January 11, 2008 #21 Share Posted January 11, 2008 Why not put up a large sheet of blank paper with a message reading "For everyone onboard - Please sign your name and where you live" Then at the end of the cruise, you'll have a one of a kind souvenir. You could even ask for their email address if you want.
soozles Posted January 11, 2008 #22 Share Posted January 11, 2008 I would put up a sign that reads "Not Your Room, Please keep walking" But I haven't seen too many door signs on my 15+ cruises, maybe I just haven't been paying attention.
countrybee Posted January 28, 2008 #23 Share Posted January 28, 2008 I usually make a sign with our Last name on it and where we are from. Since my hometown is called the Cowboy Capitol of the World, I try to get something cowboy related. When my kids are with us, it really helps them spot our room sooner. I think door signs show your personality!!!:D
UPCrawfish Posted January 28, 2008 #24 Share Posted January 28, 2008 Stolen from another poster........ Try your local hardware store. They have 3" and 4" wide rolls of yellow or red plastic tape with things like "DANGER", "CAUTION" and "CONSTRUCTION ZONE" on them. If you know someone in law enforcement. you can get a roll of tape from them of "DO NOT CROSS - CRIME SCENE". You can take the tape and wrap it around the door, taping the ends together inside.
